The quiet peace of an early morning on the farm. This is what 5:00 AM looks like. In a few weeks, this will be 4:30.
Out here, some of the best moments happen before most people are even awake.
The day starts slowly as fog hovers low over the pasture, sunlight filters through the silhouettes of the trees, the sky puts on its own little show.
With the dew on the grass, there is a peaceful stillness that feels especially precious before the minutiae of the day begins to crowd it out. Even the animals seem to bask in this fleeting tranquility.

Some additional scenes from the beautiful weekend. The sheep are telling us how much they’re enjoying their grass diet and the broiler peeps graduated from the brooding box to the chicken tractor for regular moves to fresh grass.

Under the close supervision of the wonderful mama, DollyPolly, she and her babies made the move to the mobile tractor today! 🐇🌱

This is our first time moving mom and kits out together - usually we wait until weaning time before the youngsters graduate from the hutch. But with this big bunch, everyone was more than ready for a little extra room to stretch out, nibble grass, and enjoy the fresh air.

So far, DollyPolly seems to approve of the upgrade… and the babies are loving it. ❤️

Our senior doe, DollyPolly, proudly welcomed 5 squirmy babies (kits, also called kittens) last week 🐇

She’s already proving to be an excellent mother-just as Silver Fox rabbits are known for, and one of the many reasons we choose to raise them here on the farmstead.

These little ones will stay with her for about 3 weeks before transitioning out onto pasture to finish growing the way nature intended.

We expect them to be available late July into early August-stay tuned as they grow! 🌿

New additions to We Grow R Own Farmstead 🐑🌿!

These lambs aren’t just passing through-they’re part of the system. By grazing what our goats leave behind, they help us steward the land the way it’s meant to be: diverse, balanced, and building healthier soil with every rotation.

Less mowing. Better pasture. Stronger animals.

They’ll spend the summer on grass, moving paddock to paddock, and if all goes to plan, they’ll be ready for market by early to mid-autumn.

If you’re interested in pasture-raised lamb this fall, stay tuned-or reach out to get on our list.

We grow our own so we know what we’re eating-and you can too.

It’s only fair that when we share the good, we also share the challenges. While we thoroughly enjoyed the warmer weather that arrived last week, the sunshine unfortunately came with strong winds. The wind was strong enough to lift our chicken coop, causing some damage.

Thankfully, we are very grateful to be able to say that none of our laying hens were injured during the incident. Although this was certainly a setback, we remain very excited for the coming of spring and everything that these coming months have to bring.

Yesterday was a very exciting day for us! We delivered our three largest pigs to Rising Spring Meat Company for processing.
Two of the pigs will be available by the individual cut, and the third will be sold by the half.
If you’re interested in purchasing half of a pig, please reach out by phone, email, or PM for details.
For those looking for specific cuts of pork, stay tuned! We’ll post an update as soon as the meat is back from the butcher and ready for purchase.
Thank you for supporting We Grow R Own!

❗️ First Harvest of 2026 ❗️

This past weekend, we completed processing three of our meat rabbits. We’re grateful for the opportunity to raise these animals the right way - with care, quality feed, and respect from start to finish.

As the first harvest on the farm in 2026, we’re especially thankful for the support and interest from those who purchased rabbits. Your encouragement means a lot to us!

We’re excited to share that our next round of meat rabbits should be ready later this spring. If you’re looking for a clean, healthy alternative for your supper table, stay tuned for updates.

❗️Attention❗️

Farmers market season is right around the corner, and we’re excited to announce that we’ll be attending multiple markets this spring!

Stay tuned as we share the official locations and dates where you can find us - we’ll have our pasture-raised, non-GMO-fed chicken, pork, lamb, and goat available.

We can’t wait to see you there and bring you the highest-quality, locally raised meats from our farm to your family’s table!

At We Grow R Own we enjoy learning about the different aspects of regenerative farming. We also enjoy, as we travel on this journey, being able to share what we learn with you! Contrary to the stereotype, pigs are incredibly clean animals-especially on regenerative farms. With space to roam, fresh pasture, and healthy soil, they choose clean living every time.
