We’re approved!

We are fully ready to not only take WIC benefits now, but also senior project fresh cards.

As a reminder, we are still not authorized to take SNAP benefits, which would be the Bridge cards. That is a bit of a lengthy process and we’re hoping to work on it throughout the summer.

For now, we are thrilled to be able to do these two programs to start the summer and give more access to the community 🫶🏻🌱

Hope to see you at the markets this weekend!

Someone asked us this question recently so we thought this would be a good thing to share. A fun fact about pigs: they make nests! When a sow (mamma pig) is going to have her litter she’ll make a shallow hole and surround it with sticks and grass and (in this case) even a piece of a feed bag she found somehow. This picture was taken right when she started but she’ll make a nice warm nest for her babies. After this picture was taken we gave her straw to use so hopefully soon we get a picture of a litter of piglets in her nest!

Just in time for market season!
We’re re stocked on some meat but here’s some new highlights:

- Maple sausage links
- Bologna
- Pork belly
- Chorizo
- Hot breakfast sausage
- Boneless thighs and breasts are back

More regular pork cuts will be back in stock next week, but for now we will be bringing these tasty cuts to the grand opening of the summer season of the Grand River Farmers Market this weekend!
(Hoping to be back in Holt and the Walker Tavern Farm & Craft Market in a few weeks too!)

Big News!

As of this week we can officially take WIC payments for our fresh fruits and vegetables.
We’re so excited to be able to expand our customer base and get fresh products to an underserved community.

We are in the process of getting senior project fresh acceptance for the year and will let everyone know when we can accept that.

*this does not apply to SNAP benefits but we’re looking into getting that started as well*
