Happy Saturday. We are still in a drought here in SETX and it’s DRY. There are more wildfires in TX but not close to us, thank goodness.
We fenced off a new area for the ruminates to graze. The goats were much more adventurous than the cows and found the new expansion first. This will help with rotational grazing as it opens up around 7-8 more acres to graze. I’m trying to keep the girls low maintenance as possible by feeding them less grain but having them rely on the pasture as much as possible. Majority of them are holding their condition well just on pasture and minerals. Their main field has been grazed down and needs a rest especially due to the lack of rain and high temps.
Texas was either a flood this year or a drought so you have to roll with the punches here. Hope you all are doing ok!
