Got a yearling hereford bull available. Headed to vet to be checked over. Born 1/26/25. He was 75lb birth weight bull. He was born in sub zero weather. Like -10. His mama did a fantastic job licking him clean and dry, he has his ears and tail. Not haulter broke. But he is quite and good disposition. 😇

Got a couple of awsome Bull calves coming up. Domino bull on top. Couple of heifers too. One Heifer calf has Domino both top and bottom. Excited with this calf crop 2026.

Lord,
We need rain.
The ground is dry, the grass is fading, and even the weeds have given up.
Please send gentle, steady rain to this land.
Protect the cattle, the crops, the wildlife, and the people carrying the weight of this season.
Bring relief to the dust and peace to worried hearts.
Help us keep faith while we wait for what we cannot control.
Amen.

The wind has been relentless, moisture has skipped over the Midwest. We’ve had .65 of moisture since Jan 1. (Less than Half that on the burned pastures). Every day the guys check the forecast praying for rain. As the days go by, they get quieter, and more anxious. They’ve classified our area as D4 drought. Yet another record. you know it’s dry when the weeds aren’t even growing. Joe said these droughts usually come in 10 yr cycles so we weren’t due for another one until 2032. Mother Nature must not have gotten the memo. In 2012-2013 we bought more feed than you can imagine (actually we got audited by the IRS cuz they couldn’t believe how much feed we bought)
Agriculture is not for the faint of heart.
As we trail to grass this year we are grateful for the unprecedented prices, the abundance of hay we had last year, and trust that God will send us the rain we so desperately need. Please join us in thanking God for all our blessings and asking him to grace us with much needed moisture. Amen.

🌾 Somethin’ to Chew On

Sometimes we don’t hear God…
not because He ain’t talkin’—
but because He ain’t sayin’ what we want to hear.
And lately… we’ve all had plenty to say.
Drought this. Hay prices that.
Talk of selling pairs, hauling feed from miles away…

Pissen’ and moanin’ like it might change the sky.
But morning still comes.
Meadowlarks sing on the fence posts.
Calves call for their mamas.
The sun rises soft and gold… like nothin’s wrong at all.

Maybe that’s the point.
God didn’t promise easy seasons—
He called us to a full life.
Full of grace, not judgment.
Full of love, not hate.
Full of forgiveness, not grudges.
Full of faith, not doubt.

Even here. Even now.
In dry ground and long days.
We were made for this—
to care for what’s been placed in our hands,
to endure the hard, and still notice the good.
So you can stay mad at the world…
or you can get to work.
Find the good. Survive the bad.
