For over 8 years, we've kept the prices at our honor system the same because we believe everyone should be able to enjoy local honey without breaking the bank. We've absorbed rising costs year after year for as long as we possibly could. Unfortunately, we've reached the point where we simply can't continue to do that.
To make matters even more challenging, this year's honey crop wasn't as strong as years past. Some seasons are simply better than others, and this year the bees just didn't produce the surplus we've been blessed with in previous years.
The cost of bottles, labels, bee equipment, fuel, and nearly everything that goes into producing our honey has continued to climb. As much as we hate it, we have very little choice.
Over the next couple of weeks, you'll begin to see a small price increase at both our honor system and the Fernandina Beach Arts Market.
Please know this decision wasn't made lightly. Every price change is something we wrestle with because we never want to take for granted the trust you've placed in us. Your support has allowed our family to continue doing what we love - caring for our bees and bringing you the best pure, local honey we know how to produce.
