Happy Earth Day 🌎

We’ve had a logging crew working the past week to implement our oak savanna reclamation project! Did you know the majority of the driftless/coulee region used to be prairies and oak savanna’s?

Releasing the crowded white oaks makes the woods look very open at the moment, but like many conservation efforts… it’s a long game! This will make for great turkey nesting and deer forage. In future years we will be able to manage most of this area with prescribed fire, a natural practice to help enhance the native landscape!

We are thankful for 2025 growing season and preparing for 2026! We placed an order of trees and shrubs for wildlife habitat improvements on our farm and highly recommend Yellow River Nurseries!

Fall is upon us! Due to the hot temps and in effort to provide you with quality pumpkins, we are planning to pick and stock the roadside wagon next week same location State Hwy 95 and County Hwy A intersection in Hixton! Stay tuned for details of exactly which day we will have the first batch of pumpkins available!

It’s been a challenging growing season. Very wet June, heavy downpours, eroded soil, w**d pressure, deer damage! We are thankful for the abundance of flowers and bees pollinating! Harvest is about 4-6 weeks away!
