Chef Adrian Torres has been named a finalist for Houstonia Magazine’s Houstonian of the Year 2026, and we could not be prouder. 🎉
Adrian’s story is a Houston story. He grew up here, built his career in kitchens across the city, and has continued to grow into a chef whose work reflects the culture, creativity, and diversity that make Houston’s dining scene so special.
At Maximo, Adrian brings his Mexican heritage to the table through food rooted in memory, tradition, and his own experience. Earlier this year, that work earned him the James Beard Award for Emerging Chef, and his impact has continued far beyond the kitchen through his leadership, mentorship, and the pride he brings to Houston’s restaurant community.
Now, he’s being recognized as a finalist for Houstonian of the Year, and we want to see Houston show up for him.
