Halloween requires extra measures for safety! However, the ‘safety first’ approach is applied by production, construction and infrastructure workers all year long. During colder months, it’s important to stay warm to maintain a ‘safety first’ attitude.
HARD HAT LINERS and FINGERLESS GLOVES are the answer! Don’t delay, stay warm and safe today!

Hidden Acres Alpacas of Indiana is an alpaca farm located in Huntington, Indiana owned by Mark and Jana Melton.
Hidden Acres Alpacas was established in 2008 with the arrival of two male Huacaya alpacas. Then, situated just south of Wabash, we wanted to do something environmentally friendly with our land. Our ..

ALPACAS TO THE RESCUE! I’m lucky my
parents have an alpaca farm for many reasons, but here’s an extra benefit you might not have thought about. My hanging viola flowers took some major wind damage and I truly thought they were a lost cause. They had gotten plenty of water with all of the rain, but I wasn’t quite ready to give up on them just yet. So I gave them a little bit of “alpaca gold” (manure steeped in water) and within an hour they were already perking back up. This is maybe a 12 hour time lapse. I think they’re going to be just fine. ❤️ Thanks to the alpacas!
2021 Blankets...pretty happy with this years ‘harvest’! Just love sinking my hands into that exquisite fleece. It always reminds me of some of the comments we’ve heard:
* I could just dive right into this!
* This is Heaven!
* This is like butter!
Once at the Farmer’s Market, a little boy kept coming back to chat and to feel the fiber so I gave him a baggy full. The next week his brother came up and said, ‘Don’t tell him I told you this, but he slept with it under his pillow!’ Wow...it’s little moments like that, that solidifies our passion for these amazing creatures! ❤️😊❤️

Gotta love Captain Jack. He’s a character and loves his treat of alfalfa! ❤️
A bouquet of dandelions for this sweet girl!
Francie thinks her grain is lip smacking good (notice her tongue?). She makes sure to lick each bowl clean after the other girls are done! ❤️
Moonlight over Hidden Acres
Hubby just texted me from the barn that he’ll take care of the alpacas tonight. We’re in the midst of another winter storm! We usually go to the barn after supper to feed them and I’m in the middle of cooking, after working from home today and losing internet for awhile! This is sooo appreciated, even though seeing our herd is a highlight of my day! Team work! ❤️
We Are Resilient! The Indiana Alpaca Assoc. held a zoom meeting this morning with 18 farms throughout the state ‘attending’! It was so nice to ‘see’ old friends and meet new ones! ❤️
