I want to be sure that everyone understands that the daylilies are not blooming yet and the plants we have for sale Saturday are in pots. I'm not sure of the colors. If you are wanting certain colors, you might prefer to wait until the lilies are blooming in June.
We also have angel trumpets, succulents and other plants for sale on Saturday.
If you know now that you are going to want cucumbers for pickles and peas and beans for freezing, we can take orders now and let you know when they are ready. (Usually June)
Hope to see you Saturday!

It's been a long cold winter but spring has sprung all over the place! We have been busy planting and peas, beans, squash, zucchini, cucumbers, okra and watermelons are all peeking out of the ground. Tomatoes have a new location and we should have a great crop this year. So far, so good....
The day lilies are all growing beautifully and I have expanded by planting several new varieties.
It's time for spring cleaning in the greenhouse. SO...On SATURDAY, APRIL 11 we will have a plant sale. We will have the sale from 9:00 am until around 1:00 pm. The plants will be at the end of the driveway in the usual location. Mainly, we have potted daylilies, succulents and a few other plants. The daylilies should bloom this year. For the most part, these are "mystery" daylilies, meaning we aren't sure of the colors. The prices are $3, $5, $7 depending on the size of the pot.
See you Saturday!!!!

Terry is at Bowden's Corner (intersection of Juliette Road and Hwy 87) this morning with watermelons and pickles and hot pepper sauce and Harley is in town (close to O'Reillys) with the same things to sell. Watermelons have been reduced to $3.00 a piece.
There are still free watermelons at the end of the drive for chickens, pigs or goats or any other creature in need of a watermelon.
I am still picking butterbeans so if you come to the greenhouse to pick up anything and need my help, please blow your car horn.
Have a super Saturday!!!

August has had a soggy start and I have not posted for a while because I wanted to see what would survive the rain and the humidity. Butterbeans are thriving! Tomatoes are not. We have several lbs of shelled butterbeans, a lb of shelled purple hull peas and a lb of shelled crowder peas. All shelled peas are shelled by hand and are $8.00 a pound. I also have about a bushel of unshelled butterbeans. These are $3.00 a pound.
We have corn that has been shucked, blanched and frozen. All you have to do is put it in your freezer or in a pot of boiling water! 6 ears for $4.50.
Now, on to watermelons...We have reduced the price on the watermelons to $3.00 a piece. The heat and the excessive water have not been kind to the watermelons and we have many that have split in the field. I know in past years that some of you have gotten these melons for your pigs or goats and they are free to you if you want them.
We have planted a bumper crop of squash, blue lake green beans, and purple hull peas. The plants look good so we are hopeful that there will more of all of that.
Okra continues to produce and we have 4 pounds for sale right now.
You can let me know if you want any of the vegetables or pickles or honey or hot sauce and I will set it aside of you.
Have a fabulous Friday and a wonderful weekend!
