Sometimes the opinions on the internet can be so loud.. we forget to quiet them and listen to the Holy Spirit instead.

I spent so many years taking in all the opinions from the internet and applying them to myself. People would make blanket statements that “everyone should do xyz” and I immediately felt like I was falling short.

Even worse, I allowed them to make me discontent in the circumstances God had me in. As if I thought that He didn’t know what was best for me.

We should be more concerned with being convicted by the clear commands of scripture to be joyful, self-controlled, patient, loving and kind, submissive to our own husbands than with our guilt from the internet experts.

God will be glorified in us submitting to His will for our lives and not constantly striving for more.

“But godliness with contentment is great gain, for we brought nothing into the world, and we cannot take anything out of the world. But if we have food and clothing, with these we will be content.”
‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭6‬:‭6‬-‭8‬ ‭

“Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6‬:‭25‬ ‭

My 5 hot takes as a Christian homemaker that has pretty much had to learn everything the hard way 🫠

1. If you aren’t making prayer with God the priority in whatever you’re pursuing, it literally won’t work. It might for a time but eventually it will fail.

2. We have over optimized everything in homemaking. We don’t need a system for everything. We just need to pray for the joy and self-control to do what needs to be done.

3. If you hate being home it’s probably because you’re not home enough. The more I stayed home, the more I began to love being home.

4. Essentially any home can be cute if the people in it take good care of it.

5. We have way more time than we think we do. Wayyyy more.

Comment “Time” and I’ll send you my latest blog post all about how to manage your time wisely from a heart perspective 🤎

Why is it always the youngest ones that don’t realize they need the nap the most? 😆

Years ago this would have frustrated me to have “my” time cut short. I would have put my goals over what my family needed from me.

I’m nowhere near perfect. Those old thought patterns creep in sometimes. But we have to take them captive when they do and remind ourselves that the Lord does not make mistakes. He has ordered our day exactly how it should go according to His perfect will. What a comfort that it doesn’t all rely on us 🤎
