Ode to our livestock guardian dog….
You never slept on a couch , or played in a yard… or left the job you were hired to do…..but for 10 years kept guard over our herd and forever warned off predators…. You were always there , guiding the herd up the hills… they wouldn’t go without you, if you stopped, they stopped. We could always find her laying amongst them, sometimes hard to discern her from the other does.
You were always at the gate to welcome the countless families that came to choose their 4-h project or just to visit the farm… always asking for a pet or especially a belly rub.
You loved laying on your elevated platform… just watching…
For all the families that visited and knew our “LEXY” over the years and gave her a pet or belly rub, she’s now watching a very different herd with the Lord…
Sadly, arthritis and Cancer took her from us.
We will always miss our beloved girl “Lexy”. Thank you for 10 wonderful years.💔
