This Thanksgiving, we are grateful for our neighbors! We have had a tough corn harvest. Our equipment broke down repeatedly. Fortunately, our farming neighbors stepped up again and again to help keep our harvest going Thank you to Dave Tunison for lending us his telehandler to fix the hydraulic pump of the combine, Robert Hartwig for letting us use his grain truck when one of ours broke down, and last, but not least, to Nate Stump for combining the last 25 acres of corn when the combine died AGAIN! We so appreciate having friends who will go out of their way to lend a hand. Happiest of Thanksgivings to you all!

At 6:30 this evening I told Joyce we would be done in 4 days with our corn harvest. At 7:30 pm our power line from DTEs transformer to our meter on the grain system melted in a ball of fire. At 9:00 pm the corn head on the combine decided to snap the feeder housing and fall off. I believe the saying is don’t count the chickens before they hatch!!!
I think I love farming.😁

I still have Chestnuts in the cooler. I cut five open tonight for testing. They’re in great shape and their taste in great. Give me a call to set up a time to pick up your Chestnuts.

We have fresh chestnuts to sell in our cooler! After a few windy days more chestnuts fell. I ran our chestnut harvester through the orchard & picked them up. They have been floated & are ready. The farm is very busy this time of year. Always contact Pete before coming out.

Thank you to all of our guests for coming out to Ivory Farms this year! Chestnut picking was slim, but you rose to the challenge and had a great time doing it! See you in 2026!

Folks, we are now out of Chestnuts. 2:47 pm on Sunday. We had an insane turnout this afternoon. Way more than expected and way more than I knew was coming. We appreciate all your support. Hope to see you next year when mother nature is a lot kinder to us.

2025 Chestnut U-Pick Season. We will have the roasting fires open on both Saturday and Sunday, the 11th and 12th. I suspect that picking will be very light on Sunday. Due to nine weeks without significant rain, the nuts are falling within a 7-day period instead of the usual 14 days.
We have sweet corn for roasting on the fires and apples for sale.
