When chicks are this young, they see their farmer as part of their flock! That’s why they come running when they hear a familiar voice.

Our baby chicks spend their first couple weeks in a warm, protected brooder where they have constant access to fresh water, nutritious feed, and space to grow strong. These early weeks are critical for developing healthy birds that will later thrive on pasture. 🍀

Never a dull moment at the farm! Saturday morning threw us a curveball when one of our kiddos came down with something. Out of caution, we called off our volunteer processing day at the farm. What was supposed to be a team effort became a two-person processing crew 😅 Just two people (TJ and his sister who had traveled from Dallas), a lot of birds🐓🐓 🐓 , and a long day. In the end, they got it done—that’s farm life for you!

We also had the chance to see so many of you during pickups this past week. One of our favorite parts of farming is getting to meet both new and familiar faces, hear what you’re cooking, and chat about life for a few minutes.

As we continue to grow, we’re making a few small improvements to our ordering and pickup process to help keep communication clear and make the experience even smoother for everyone. We appreciate your patience and feedback as we make those updates.

When we started raising chickens, we had a choice.

We could follow the conventional model and raise birds indoors for maximum efficiency.

Or we could choose a system that prioritizes animal health, soil health, and transparency.

We chose pasture. No question.

Today, our chickens enjoy fresh air, sunshine, insects, and fresh pasture as they’re moved regularly across our farm. Importantly, they are on a corn-free, soy-free feed, and raised using regenerative practices that work with nature, not against it.

It may not be the easiest way to raise chickens, but it’s the way we believe is right for what you will feed your family.

Over the weekend, we processed under 100 chickens in the thick of the Texas summer. 🔥🐔

Some of these birds are already feeding local families 🍗 🍽️, and that’s one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.

There is something empowering about knowing where your food comes from—and the farmer who raised it from day one.

These birds have spent their whole lives on open pasture — moved to fresh grass every single day, chasing bugs, soaking up sun, living the way chickens are supposed to. No concrete floors, no crowded barns, no shortcuts.
