People will sometimes ask me how I got into flower farming. It’s hard to tell someone with bright eyes and a smile”…a mental breakdown” lol. But since it’s Mental Health Awareness Month, I wanted to share a little piece of me and my story. My flower farming journey began during a season when I was navigating the absolute trenches postpartum anxiety and OCD. I slowing turned planting a few flowers as a creative outlet into this business and a huge part of my life.
There was something healing about creating beauty for other people during a time when I really needed grounding in my own life. But I also never want to pretend flowers were the thing that “fixed” me. Professional support, treatment, and honest conversations were a huge part of my journey. The flowers were simply something that helped bring creativity and routine back into my days.
Mental health struggles do not always look obvious from the outside and I think that’s important to remember. I’m just grateful for how far I’ve come and for this little flower farm that grew along with me. Thanks for being here💞
