I used to place a bulk chick, duck, and turkey order once a year in the spring. I stopped doing it for a while, but I will be starting back up this year. I will only be accepting electronic payments ahead of time. You will receive a receipt. I can text or email you a Square invoice, or you can use Venmo or cash app. I will not be accepting cash payments as I have to pay for these animals in advance. I will need your name and phone number that can be texted or use Facebook messenger. Message me for ALL PAYMENT ARRANGEMENTS. As soon as I get a confirmation of shipping and arrival date I will text or message you the information. You must be able to pick up in Lexington, Tennessee near the intersection of Highway 200 and Broadway. I will give you an exact address at the day we arrange for pick up. I have listed the prices along with the bird breeds. Price is including the cost of the bird and any shipping prices that would be associated with it, I lumped them into one price. I will be placing my order on this Saturday morning, March 7 for the following birds:
American Blue Bresse Chicken $8.50 each
Jumbo White Pekin Ducks $13.50 each
Narragansett Heritage Turkey $25.00 each
These birds will be unsexed. The tentative expected shipping dates (subject to change by hatchery) are March 30 for the ducks and turkeys, and April 13 for the chicks. I am attaching pictures of listed breeds.
Breed information:
American Blue Bresse- A dual purpose chicken. Hens lay an average of 250 eggs per year. Hens weigh 5.5-6 pounds as adults and roosters weigh 7-7.5 pounds. They are “blue” in color (dark, tones of black and gray). They are naturally acclimated to heat and cold and make great meat or egg birds.
Narragansett Heritage Turkey
These turkey are considered a medium size variety. Hens are known for being great mothers and this breed is more calm than other varieties. Hens weigh an average of 17 pounds and toms about 30 pounds. They have coloring of primarily black with bands of gray and tan. They make a great meat variety and lay 40 to 80 eggs per year. They are a broody variety, so can be used to incubate eggs of all kinds.
Jumbo White Peking Duck
These make a great meat variety duck. But they also lay between 140 and 175 eggs per year. They also have the benefit of laying earlier than most poultry variety starting between 4 to 5 months of age. They are not good mothers, and rarely go broody. Hens and drakes typically weigh about the same coming in between 9-13 pounds.
