Another chapter in the history of Loss Farm.

Ed and Gladys Loss had only one daughter, Judy Loss (Recktenwald). After Gladys was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS), she was unable to have any more children. Wanting to open their hearts and home to children who needed a family, Ed and Gladys welcomed two foster children, Vic Level and Jess Gillespie, and raised them as their own. Judy thought of Vic and Jess as her brothers.

The last image shows the very first corn stand Ed and Gladys set up along the roadside at the farm. Two card tables, covered with a fringe tablecloth, served as the farm stand for many years. It was a humble beginning to what would become a meaningful part of the farm’s history.
