We are the Cruciotti family and this is our story of our growing homestead known as Back Porch Homestead. Myself (Tammy), my husband Chris, son Corbin (2 years old), and our chocolate lab Hunter moved to Lincoln Missouri in the spring of 2021. We were looking for an area that still honored core values and where people worked hard for what they wanted. My husband and I want to raise our family with
the knowledge of being able to take care of ourselves in some sustainable living. We moved here from Maine, which is a beautiful state, however it did not offer everything we were looking for in making our homestead. My husband, Chris, is a Purple Heart Veteran from the Army and I have worked in healthcare my entire career. We always had a garden that we processed and prepared our own sauces, veggies, pickles, jams ect. We harvested a trophy Maine moose a few years ago that weighed 840 lbs dressed which we also processed and packaged as well. We hope to expand our knowledge in homesteading and farming in our new property here in Missouri. We purchased 62 acres of woods and pastures. The property has a barn, pole barn, shop and a few sheds. We were fortunate the property also had fencing already up to help in starting our new adventure. We also already owned a tractor which was a little large for our home in Maine, but now to small for some chores on this farm lol. So, this is our story for years to come. We look forward to growing our homestead and experience in farming. We’re excited to learn and also teach our son how to be able to live a sustainable life if he chooses to in the future.
