Things don’t always go as planned with raising goats. Angel was happily raising, cleaning and feeding her babies for about two weeks and then decided rather abruptly that the mom life was not for her. I’ve never, nor has my vet, had a goat do this without some sort of medical event of some sort. (Leave it to me to stump my vet! 🤪) After a check up and trying everything we could, we made the decision to pull the kids onto a bottles. It’s been a long week and this was not decided lightly but they’re FINALLY on bottles and doing well. I’m not sure how Angel could look at these sweet faces and not be in love but I’ll give them lots to make up for it.

We’re making the trek home from Kentucky today. We talked for three days straight on the way back east. I am so grateful to Michelle Manzer, Shelly Strahan and Jari Frassenei for doing all the driving and taking such care with me since I tweaked my back. Best cross country road warriors ever!

We then had an incredible weekend at the MGR National Show. I have to say I was quite nervous going into this but our fellow breeders were incredibly welcoming and kind. It was so nice to put names with faces and get to know everyone better. I loved catching up with everyone I had already met. Of course, LOTS of goat talk and I loved every minute of it! We are so grateful for the welcoming hospitality we received. Thank you everyone for making this such a wonderful experience!

Now for another three days in the car and although we are bone tired and the car is a little quieter, our hearts are full. ❤️

In true “doe code” fashion, Falling For You Farm Enid decided to kid on day 144 while I’m in Kentucky for nationals AFTER my farm sitter left. Thankfully, she’s a pro and she handled it like one. She had two bucks and a doe sired by RGCH Naughty Goat Acres Galaxy. Pictures will have to wait until I’m back home! Nationals are in the morning, can’t wait!

These are by far my favorite leads. They’re fully adjustable, great quality and when lead training, they don’t cinch too tight around the neck making the experience more tolerable. Love them!
