CBS Hagrid was picked up from Baraboo this afternoon and arrived back at Hidden Ridge for some combing and treats. Tomorrow he will be picked up and head to Bennet Farms in Baldwin Wi. Hagrid arrived 6byears ago as a bull calf. We are very happy with the "clean up" he has done on the farm and the studding he has been able to help other farms with. We are excited for him to get his own fold.

๐Ÿ–ค In Loving Memory of LEA Igraine โ€” โ€œIggyโ€ ๐Ÿ–ค

Iggy arrived at Hidden Ridge on a bitterly cold December day in 2020. She stepped off that transport trailer like she was something special, because she was.

She had a presence about her from the very beginning โ€” a little bit of a diva, incredibly photogenic, and beautiful enough to prove herself in the show ring. But as she settled into life with the fold, on pasture, we got to know the softer side of Iggy, too.

She was an exceptional mama. She calved easily, raised beautiful, solid calves, and took her job seriously. More than once, you could find Iggy babysitting the other calves in the pasture as if they were her own.

She enjoyed combing, treats, and those quiet moments of one-on-one attention. Over the years, she became so much more than another cow in the pasture. She became part of our story.

On Saturday, September 5th, Iggy left us peacefully in her sleep. We will continue to care for her 2026 bull calf.

There are some animals that simply leave a bigger space behind when they're gone. Iggy is one of them.

Thank you, Iggy, for the calves you raised, the ribbons and memories, the lessons you taught us, the photographs you gave us, and all of the little moments in between.

You were something special from the moment you stepped off that trailer.

You always will be.

Rest easy, beautiful girl. ๐Ÿค

Its is a blessing to announce that on Friday, August 21st. Miss Iggy was able to successfully give birth to a breech silver bull with assistance by the local vet. In June Iggy presented with a hernia of some kind which was not treatable because of the calf she was carrying. To say there were concerns for this calf and for Iggy are an underststement. Happy to report Iggy and her calf are doing well and steps are being taken to help Iggy.
