Cover crops are looking good and will soon be terminated and tilled into the soil, preparing our beds for the fall season. We have started are fall seedlings, will be planting soon.

Sunday morning sunflower update - the field has definitely popped and we are starting to see some die off. These will be harvested for bird seed.

Happy 250th Birthday to the great United States of America. So proud and blessed to live in this country where hard work, ingenuity and perseverance can yield amazing outcomes.

Tomorrow we will be at the Waccamaw Market Cooperative Conway Farmers Market. We will be bringing Callaloo (Amaranthus viridis) which is a leafy green grown in the Caribbean, in the heat of summer, and cooked similar to spinach. The flavor is described as mild and slightly earthy. I have attached recipe where I substituted our Jimmy Nardello sweet peppers and our Sumher hot peppers. The flavor was great.
