💜 Purple Heart Day 💜

Some wounds are visible. Others are carried quietly for a lifetime.

Today, we honor the men and women who were wounded or made the ultimate sacrifice while defending our country. The Purple Heart is more than a medal. It is a symbol of courage, sacrifice, and a debt that can never truly be repaid.

At Farm2Veteran, we have the privilege of serving veterans every day. We hear their stories, shake their hands, and witness the strength they continue to carry long after their service has ended. It is a reminder that freedom has a cost, and that cost has been borne by brave Americans and the families who stood beside them.

To every Purple Heart recipient, thank you for your courage. To the families who have sacrificed alongside them, thank you for your strength. And to those who never came home, we promise to remember.

Today, and every day, we remain committed to serving those who have sacrificed so much for all of us.

Today, on National Korean War Veterans Armistice Day, we honor the men and women who served during the Korean War and remember those who never made it home.

More than 7,400 American service members from the Korean War remain unaccounted for as Prisoners of War or Missing in Action. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten.

At Farm2Veteran, we are proud to serve those who served while honoring the legacy of all who wore our nation's uniform.

Today, we remember. We honor. We thank them.

At Farm2Veteran, our mission has always been about honoring and serving those who have served our nation. That's why we're proud to support the Flight Home Memorial and its mission to create one of Illinois' first major memorials dedicated to America's Prisoners of War, those Missing in Action, and the more than 80,000 service members who remain unaccounted for.

The project is now entering the planning and design phase, and the Flight Home: New Lenox American Legion POW/MIA Memorial is looking for professionals who may be willing to donate their expertise or provide services at a reduced cost.

They are currently seeking:
• Architects
• Civil and Structural Engineers
• Landscape Architects
• Site Designers
• Surveyors
• Veterans with experience in memorial design
• Other professionals who would like to help bring this vision to life

If you, your company, or someone in your network has experience in any of these areas, we'd love to help make the connection.

This memorial, inspired by the story of Staff Sergeant Kenneth James Patton and his crew, will ultimately honor every American who has yet to make their flight home.

Sometimes it's just that simple...

When you get a call saying the veterans need ribs, you make it happen.

This past weekend, we were honored to provide ribs for our deserving veterans at the Southland Salutes BBQ 4 Vets Competition. A huge thank you to everyone who stepped up to cook, serve, and make sure our veterans enjoyed an incredible meal.

It's partnerships and volunteers like these that remind us what our mission is all about—coming together to serve those who have served us.

Thank you to everyone involved in making this event a success, and most importantly, thank you to our veterans for your service and sacrifice. We're proud to support you any chance we get.

At Farm2Veteran, Independence Day is more than fireworks and cookouts—it's a reminder of the sacrifices made by the men and women who have worn our nation's uniform. We are honored to serve those who have served us by providing farm-fresh food to veterans in need throughout Illinois.

A new month brings new opportunities to make a difference.

Every day, Farm2Veteran works to ensure veterans have access to fresh, nutritious food while building stronger partnerships throughout Illinois. Whether it's harvesting produce, preparing deliveries, supporting our partner organizations, or welcoming new opportunities to expand our impact, every step brings us closer to our mission.

As we celebrate Independence Day this week, we're reminded that honoring our nation's heroes doesn't end after the fireworks. It continues through service, compassion, and a commitment to ensuring no veteran is forgotten.

Thank you to our volunteers, donors, partners, and supporters who make this mission possible. We have some exciting things in the works this month, and we can't wait to share them with you.
