💚 A Special Surprise at the Farm! 🚜🇺🇸

A HUGE thank you to Southland Salutes BBQ 4 Vets for their incredibly generous donation to Farm2Veteran!

We also want to give a special shoutout to Vito for stopping by the farm for a visit and bringing such a wonderful surprise!

Support like this reminds us just how fortunate we are to have an amazing community standing behind our mission of Providing Farm Fresh Food for Veterans in Need.

Every donation helps us continue making a difference in the lives of the Veterans we serve, and we couldn’t do it without generous supporters like you.

From all of us at Farm2Veteran, THANK YOU, Southland and Vito! 🇺🇸❤️

A little late sharing this one — but to say it was a busy week would be an understatement! 🇺🇸🚁

Farm2Veteran is incredibly honored to be a part of the Flight Home: New Lenox American Legion POW/MIA Memorial project and to help bring this Huey home to New Lenox.

A huge thank you to WGN TV and Patrick Elwood for taking the time to share the story behind this project, the five men we are honoring, and the incredible community that has come together to make it happen.

The Huey may be home, but our work is just beginning. ❤️🤍💙

A Vietnam UH-1 helicopter, known commonly as a Huey, has arrived to what will be her home nest in the southwest suburbs.

Even though we could not personally be in Virginia today to help load the helicopter - she is on her way home … see you all Friday for the Homecoming!

PROGRESS REPORT 🇺🇸

AND SHE’S OFF!

The Huey is officially in the hands of Americars Transportation and on her way to Illinois!

Today came with a few hiccups — some rusted parts, a few unexpected challenges, and definitely a few learning moments — but our crew worked through every one of them and got her safely loaded and ready for the road.

Now begins the journey of more than 700 miles from Arrington, Virginia to New Lenox, Illinois. 🇺🇸

Safe travels to Charles and AMERICARS TRANSPORTATION INC as they bring this very special piece of history home to New Lenox.

We’ll keep you updated along the way!

25 years later, we still remember. 🇺🇸

September 11, 2001 changed our country forever.

Today, we remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost, the first responders who ran toward danger, the families whose lives changed in an instant, and the countless acts of courage and humanity that followed.

We also remember the generation of American service members who raised their hands in the days, months and years that followed — many beginning deployments and wars that would shape the next two decades.

For some, September 11 is history.

For many of our Veterans, first responders and military families, it is deeply personal.

Today, we ask you to take a moment to remember.

Never forget. 🇺🇸

Labor Day

Today, we celebrate the hands that keep America moving. 🇺🇸

Farmers. Tradesmen and women. Truck drivers. First responders. Healthcare workers. Small business owners. Union workers. Members of our military and Veterans who returned home and built new careers.

At Farm2Veteran, we're especially fortunate to see what happens when people are willing to roll up their sleeves and help their neighbors.

From growing and harvesting food to packing boxes and getting farm-fresh food into the hands of Veterans — none of it happens without people willing to do the work.

Happy Labor Day from all of us at Farm2Veteran. 🇺🇸

12 DAYS. 🚁🇺🇸

Something incredibly special is coming home.

On Friday, September 18 — National POW/MIA Recognition Day — a historic UH-1 Huey will complete its journey from Virginia to its new home at the Thomas E. Hartung American Legion Post 1977 in New Lenox.

There, it will eventually become the centerpiece of the Flight Home Memorial.

Farm2Veteran is incredibly proud to serve as a co-sponsor of this project.

Over the next 12 days, we'll share more about the aircraft, the men behind the memorial and the people making this journey possible.

🚁 September 18. New Lenox.

Help us spread the word.

We think it's time you met one of our most important Farm2Veteran employees. 🐔

Meet Cricket.

Her official job title is still being determined.

Her unofficial responsibilities include supervising farm chores, following everyone around and generally making sure things are being done to her standards.

Cricket has quite the story — and trust us, you'll be seeing more of her around here.

For now, she wanted to say hello. 👋🐔
