Missouri State Fair Rabbit barn had 23 entries in the cage decoration contest. Missouri State Highway Patrol Corporal Tyler Johnson and Trooper WrayVauze Givens were possibly the most invested cage decoration judges I have ever had. These gentlemen took their job seriously and quickly created their own 10 point scale for judging. Having no real Rabbit knowledge, they quickly absorbed the parameters I gave them and then returned with clarifying questions once they had an opportunity to start looking in the barn. They were complementary, yet appropriately critical, and they openly displayed enjoyment at the opportunity. Their smiles were truly contagious. Once their job was complete they had photo ops, each with a particular Rabbit that they had in mind. Thank you to those owners who obliged them. It is truly no joke that they lifted my spirits. The cage decorations looked outstanding, cages were clean, and I saw many families working hard to keep things looking nice. Congratulations to all the winners who will be announced tomorrow and all those who participated. Fairgoers’s especially enjoyed the decorations.
