The very first workspace was a corner of a kitchen counter, shared with everything else that needed counter space that week. Supplies lived in a single cardboard box, and cleanup happened before every meal without exception. The workspace today looks nothing like that corner counter, but it grew there, one small need at a time, not all at once.
