Ready for our favorite week! #BRCHS2022
These three Crossrail stars deserve their own post! Pictured right to left:
Penny Bradley came to us last fall barely cantering. She did her first Walk Trot show in March.
Annie Shearer did her first Walk Trot Canter this spring after working through a fear of cantering and jumping. This was only her second horse show over fences.
Tessa Lewis has only taken a few lessons with us and is on a brand new mount. She had never cantered a course at a show and just moved up to the WTC and Crossrails last month.
All three have the sweetest, most saintly and worth their weight in gold older ponies. All three came home with a blue or tricolor.
Super proud of these cute, sweet, pony loving girls!
Blue ribbon weekend at beautiful Sedgefield at the Park!
Susy Shearer’s 5 year old “HLT Metropolis” was Champion in the Schooling Hunter and 4th in the derby with Nick and then stepped into the Adult Hunters for the first time with Susy to finish with a Reserve Champion Sunday. Susy’s “London Time” also had great ribbons in the Adults and finished in the top 12 of the derby with a beautiful handy!
Emma Ledin and “Jaspar” were double clean to win the Low Children’s Jumper Classic and had several great trips over the weekend to prepare for Blowing Rock.
Allie Robards and “Play It Again” had great ribbons in a competitive Short Stirrup division, winning the hack both days.
Anna Robards and “Little Grey Riding Hood,” tried their hand in the jumper ring for the first time and finished 5th out of 19 in a trip, getting better every time out.
Sophie Poirier and “Ballymoon’s VDL Cavalier” had their first time back out since the fall, winning the Equitation Fences and was also Reserve in the Low Adult Hunter.
Ava Robards and “Carmen” were Reserve Champion in the Low Children’s Hunters, winning the hack both days to finish as weekend Champion.
Jessica and Julia Stamatakis shared Julia’s “Endless Options.” Jessica had top ribbons in enormous Long Stirrup flat classes having only sat on Eli once before. Julia won the 11 and Under Eq Flat both days and showed Eli over fences for the first time! We love watching this pair progressing!
Our Crossrail riders were super stars with everyone finishing with a blue ribbon or tri color out of 22! Annie Shearer and “Captain Jack Sparrow” won the Equitation Fences on Saturday. Penny Bradley and “North Star’s Starlight,” won the Equitation Fences and a hunter trip Sunday to make them Reserve Champion. Tessa Lewis and “April Fools” joined us Sunday to finish as dual Reserve Champion of the Crossrail Hunter.
Loved having this big, fun group of kids and parents! Next stop, cooler weather and beautiful Blowing Rock!
Two very special ATF family members moved to downtown Saxapahaw today to their brand new retirement farm! Biggest thanks to The Bradley Family for building this incredible mini farm just for Clark and Tonto. They are already so happy and we know they are going to get all the attention and peppermints they deserve! 🦄 ❤️
New course (courtesy of Nick Stewart and the men clearing trees from the power line yesterday) + perfect footing for the 6:15AM ride!
"Unconventional" - 2011 Imported WB Gelding. Arci is one of the most beautiful and kind horses we have ever had in the barn. He is extremely safe, honest to the jumps and reliable in every way. Would be a wonderful mount for a beginner/novice adult rider or long legged junior for the Crossrails - 2'6. Arci does prefer the slow and steady route and is best on the add step. This one is worth his weight in gold! Loves children and barn dogs :-) Lowest 5 figure lease to fantastic program only.
A little delayed but ATF had a great week at Tryon Summer II with beautiful weather and PBR as a bonus 🤠 So glad to have Emma Ledin back with us for the summer taking the reins on Katie Leupold’s “Jaspar” with some good trips in the 1.0 and Low Children’s, getting used to one another again since their last time out last summer! Allie Robards and “Play It Again” had great ribbons in a huge Short Stirrup division. Anna Robards and “Little Grey Riding Hood” had good ribbons in a large Crossrails division at their first show back together in quite some time. Susy Shearer’s HLT Metropolis had ribbons in good company in the 2’6 and 2’9 and conquered his first derby like a pro with Nick getting better each time out. Ava Robards and “Carmen” won a trip in a large Pre-Children’s division and were 2nd in the hack. And last but not least, Penny Bradley and North Star’s Starlight won several classes in the Crossrails to make them Champion!
One of our absolute favorites will be available in August….the absolute best first jumper or competitive High Children’s horse. Will take a scared kid around the ring, double as a Children’s Hunter or Equitation horse and is so safe that your mother could ride him (as we have done with his owner’s mother) 😉
“Wrozbita” - USEF # 5543283
2010 Belgian WB Gelding
16.1H and built like an overgrown pony. Has taken his current owner off of a pony to winning in the High Children’s. 2021 Zone 3 HOTY Low Children’s Jumper, SCHJA Year-End Champion, Champion in the Medium Children’s at HITS 2021 and 2022, winning the classic both years as well.
There is not a more reliable horse to take you around the jumper ring. Will always pat the ground and take care of you. Great lead change. Can be easily prepped for the hunters and equitation as well. The sweetest and most polite horse with a great personality to boot. This is one you never want to leave the barn.
Waffle is extremely special and will only be offered to a great program. He is very loved by his owners who unfortunately had to move back to Europe during COVID and therefore is available for lease as they do hope to return down the road.
Low-mid 5 figure lease dependent on job. Please call or PM.
So excited to have Sonja Boorman and Boorman Equine Bodyworks in the Triangle area! Max and friends enjoyed their magna-wave and massage this morning 🦄
Another original barn baby headed to NC State! So proud of Marissa Santaniello and Jack Santaniello Amy Horn Santaniello for raising such a great kid. The Bed Head Ned era goes down in ATF history 🤣 Love you guys!
Loved celebrating the graduation of one of our first barn babies yesterday ❤️ From shipping in to your first horse show where you asked to load Dino on the trailer yourself (bad idea = loose horse and crying kid,) to Northern Virginia road trips shopping for Facebook ponies, paddock boots to tall boots, a couple years of gray ponies to horses, trips to IEA Nationals, working your butt off for us in the rain, shine, heat and cold and breaking in the camper with our entire family, we wouldn’t have had it any other way! You have been a natural talent in the saddle since day 1 and have turned in to a pretty awesome human. Can’t wait to see what you do next at UGA! We love you @sophia.santoro!
Such a fun weekend at the Triangle Sandhills Spring Classic with the best group! Ava Robards and Carmen had ribbons in a huge Low-Children’s division, winning the hack out of 18. Allie Robards and Play It Again had their second show together with great ribbons in the Short Stirrup including 2nd and 2nd in the Short Stirrup Equitation Flat and Fences on Sunday. Payton Blackwell also rode Play It Again to Champion in the Schooling Ponies on Friday. Thank you Payton for the great rides on both Ana and Max this weekend! Annie Shearer and Captain Jack Sparrow cantered full crossrail courses, winning the Equitation over fences on Sunday! Even though the High Child/Adult sadly didn’t fill, Katie Leupold and Jaspar were fast and double clean on Saturday and Sunday in the 1.10. Baby J continues to get better each and every time out! Susy Shearer had her first horse show back on her lovely London Calling, getting back in the groove each time out with good ribbons in the Adult Hunters. Morgan York joined us for horse trials and was the best help and babysitter around! Big thank you to wonderful, honest trainer friends both new and old for being so transparent and fairly representing the lovely mounts we tried this weekend for Morgan. And to our barn fairy, Sophie Poirier…you had everyone prepared perfectly and the barn organized and clean. We could not do it without you!! It takes a big village to make all of this happen and we have a great one ❤️
Tears!!! Proud to call you a friend, Courtney Carson! https://eventingnation.com/a-horse-that-owed-me-nothing-made-my-career/?fbclid=IwAR3jb7kMDuWhT0YozaHACJjWv2jQ4x4gc8yl_HTCvueLE5QXAXXaB86jIpk
After the announcement of the retirement of Vandiver, the Olympic partner of Doug Payne and best friend to #supergroom Courtney Carson, we asked both Courtney and Doug to write about the horse that took them
Congratulations to Sammy Wills on her lease of the wonderful “Lunch Money.” Big thank you to the Hancock Family for entrusting us to find Lunchie’s next person and to the Will’s trainers, Katie Schaaf and Lisa Dye of Oriana Stables!
Such a fun, LONG weekend back at Sedgefield at the Park! All of the kids and horses were amazing with lots of blue ribbons in enormous divisions!
Jessica Stamatakis and “Saphira” were Champion and Reserve in the Long Stirrup Hunter, making them weekend Champion for the division! Julia Stamatakis and Endless Options had their first show together, winning the 11 and Under Flat and the Short Stirrup Eq Flat. Allie Robards and her new pony “Play It Again,” were champion in the Short Stirrup Hunter division. Ella Tarumianz joined us to show Across Town Farm’s “Whoville” to Champion in the Small/Medium Pony Hunters on Sunday. Penny Bradley and “North Star’s Starlight,” were Champion in Crossrail Hunter. Ava Robards and ”Carmen” just missed Champion in the Low Child Hunter, winning the hack Sunday. Katie Leupold and “Jaspar” tried their hand in the hunter ring for the first time with a great course on the grass in the Hunt and Go Derby and a win in the SATP Equitation Challenge. Morgan Collie and “Chasing Victory” got back in the ring for the second time at 2’6 together with some great trips in good company. And we loved helping our good friend Lynley Reilly to a win in the Hunt and Go Derby on her beautiful Damascus! Mostly we had the best time in the sunshine and “camperville” with great friends and clients. Can’t wait to be back at the end of May!
Pocket size fun today! Thank you @lily_rupinski for the professional pony squishing!
Newest addition of Nick’s rainy day projects ☔️
New flower boxes for spring horse show set up! 🌸
Exciting spring upgrades adding a fly spray system to both barns!! Thank you Sandhills Fly-A-Way, LLC!
Congratulations to the Haas Family on their lease of G’ Alexander RSH. Thank you to Trainer, Collette McNeil and The Stamatakis Family for trusting us to find the right fit for Al!
"Foxlair SaraLee"
Foxy is a 2009 14H Welsh Mare. Has been a fantastic Short Stirrup and Long Stirrup pony for the past six years. Competitive in the show ring - won a trip in the Long Stirrup at Blowing Rock last summer. Cute mover. Loves the beginner job. Would make a fantastic Walk/Trot/Canter mount through the 2'. Uphill with a little bit of a motor. Good lead change. Very brave, barefoot, easy keeper. Mid 4 figure lease.
Barn help has a family emergency? No worries, Clark is available for all baby entertainment needs during PM stall cleaning! 25 years of experience with children, comes highly recommended.
Bright light at the end of the tunnel for Miss Peaches 🍑 Getting some rehab (and spa treatments) from the cutest girls and the wonderful Dr. Magda Wylie!! So grateful for the Wylie Family taking a chance on Peaches and we can’t wait to hopefully see her back in the show ring with Campbell and Reese! Big thank you you to our wonderful team of vets and trainers who helped us figure out the best path forward for this special girl and have given her the best care over the past few months 🦄
Big time failure at taking pictures but we had a wonderful weekend in Camden at the Harmon Classics Spring Challenge!
Morgan York rode Julia Stamatakis’s “Endless Options” to a 3rd Place in the derby and was the highest placing junior/amateur exhibitor.
Ava Robards and “Carmen” were Reserve Champion in the Pre-Children’s Hunters
Allie Robards and Across Town Farm’s “Saphira” were Champion in the Short Stirrup Equitation and Reserve in the Hunters.
Annie Shearer and “Captain Jack Sparrow” were Reserve Champion in the Walk Trot Poles and Champion in the Walk Trot Canter, winning all 3 classes and even tried their hand at the Crossrails Sunday!
Penny Bradley and “Northstar’s Starlight,” improved every time out with great ribbons in a competitive Crossrails division.
The Robard’s family’s “Little Grey Riding Hood,” had great ribbons jumping around for the first time in the Pony Hunters with Ava aboard.
Huge thanks to the baby fairies, Maggie and Angela for keeping Sutton happy and Sophie Poirier for keeping the kids and ponies in line! We had delicious food provided by two awesome barn dads, Jonathan and Chris and lots of special friends came to visit!
So grateful for our people that help us make everything happen 🥰
Congratulations to the new owners of “Waimea Bay.” We look forward to watching sweet Rio teach his next kid!
Thank you to our friend Robin Lineberger for giving our special “Corleone,” the most well-deserved 17th birthday celebration! So grateful for all the love our lease horses get from their people! 🦄
Big congratulations to Emma Ledin and Wrozbita, finishing as HOTY Zone 3 Low-Children’s Jumper Champions for 2021…so proud of these two!
“Waimea Bay”
12 year-old, 16.1H big-bodied Warmblood gelding. “Rio” is the perfect first horse for a young rider or adult looking to get back in the show ring. Pre-Child Adult Packer. Great lead change, pretty and wins the hack. Looking for one for the kid with an electric seat? Rio is your man! Stick and spur every day quiet but not sulky. Always comes out with a great attitude and ears up. Easy to have in the barn. Normal show horse maintenance. Impossible to find in this market! Owner in college and no longer riding.

Such an amazing weekend getting back at it in Raleigh! Regardless of results, we are just so grateful to have the best group of clients and families that have been 2 1/2 years in the making at ATF Mebane. Katie Leupold and Jaspar came to school the 1.10 before we head to Ocala but instead, had a little fun jumping around the 1.25 😜 We are constantly amazed by this incredibly talented guy and Katie’s hard work and amazing attitude! Jessica Stamatakis and Saphira were Reserve Champion in the Long Stirrup Hunters and had a pair of 80’s to finish 3rd in the derby. Annie Shearer and Captain Jack Sparrow celebrated Annie’s 8th Birthday with Reserve Champion in the Walk Trot Saturday and moved up to the Walk Trot Canter, winning a class on Sunday. Penny Bradley and North Star’s Starlight joined us for their first show ever, winning Champion in the Walk Trot, Walk Trot Canter, and moving up to the Crossrails on Sunday with fantastic trips having never jumped a full course at home! Susy Shearer’s “HLT Metropolis” was Champion in the Open Hunter on Sunday with Nick aboard and had great trips in the Adult Hunters with Susy. Ava Robards and Carmen had their first horse show at 2’6 and 3rd horse show together with great trips and ribbons with a 10th in the derby on Saturday. We can’t wait to see this pair continue to excel this year. Sophia Santoro and Allie Robards had the catch ride on Katie Katie Hines Miss Maggie May, both doing such a great job on a lovely green pony. We are very grateful to Katie for her continued support and involvement in our program and for giving the girls an opportunity to ride such a cute pony! Huge thank you to Sophia for all her hard work grooming and caring for the horses in the barn and Hailey Johnson for helping us Friday and riding at home on Sunday. Thank you to Joan Petty and Triangle Farms Horseshows for their continued hard work and support of the local horse community. Now on to warmer weather🌴
The Short Stirrup Champion of Champions! 25 year old “Frankly My Dear” living his best retired life at ATF! 👨🏼🦳🦄
Across Town Farm’s “Whoville” taking the win in the Small/Medium Green Fences yesterday at HITS. We are so proud of this young pony marching right around and so grateful to Miss Ella Tarumianz for her expert pony jockeying and Taylor Ann Adams at Joyeaux Farm for the fantastic prep and training! Whoville is available for lease or sale! #smallgreen2022
Take care of your footing, and it will take care of you and your horses! Ring sealed tonight for the rain and dragged tomorrow for a full day of riding, rain or shine. Never a puddle in sight!
