About 4 months ago I took a leap of faith, followed my heart, and went all in on opening a second TK Equestrian location in Broken Bow, Nebraska. Some called me crazy but here we are absolutely thriving! Over the last few months I have had the privlage of providing quality horseback riding lessons to both adults and children of all ages! The program has been amazing and I have not had one customer come for their first lesson and not continue! A 100% customer satisfaction rate is something I am so so so proud of. As the love for horses grows each week in these folks lessons the question always arises about what it takes to own their own horse. That being said, yesterday I hosted a day long learning camp/seminar and used the time to teach everyone about all the behind the scenes tasks that go into that horse being happy, healthy, and available for them when they come to their lesson. We learned about nutrition and each horses specialized feeding program, we learned about medical care, wound treatment, and bandaging, we learned about hoof health and what goes into proper horse shoeing thanks to a demonstration from my wonderful farrier, we learned about their dental care and the important role that plays in their health as well as their performance under saddle and the way all of these pieces of the equine puzzle must come together before we put our feet in the stirrup! We also had a wonderful roping instructor and all got to experience riding ba****ck! I had a list a mile long of other things to do and learn yet there is sadly never enough hours in a day, there is however a next time! I owe a huge thank you to Jason Fleming CF and Dr. Todd Longfellow DVM for their informative demonstrations, my clients and the community for supporting my new business, and Traci and Caitlin who keep things not just running smoothly but thriving at my NJ location. So much goes into this industry behind the scenes and allowing adults and children who do not come from horse families make this a special part of their life is priceless. Many more photos and videos to come! This was simply all I could do while waiting for the water tank to fill, not enough hours in a day but I wouldn’t have it any other way!
