Stormalong Cider Real handcrafted hard c***r made with love in Massachusetts. 100% real, whole locally sourced apples. Stormalong would sign his name with an "A.B".

We are a small-batch, craft c***r producer located in Sherborn, MA. We seek out rare, uncompromising apples that yield bold flavors full of complexity, tannins, and acidity. We are in the process of growing a c***r apple orchard on our farm here in Sherborn, carefully selecting apple cultivars for the specific traits we are looking for in a blend. We also gather apples from growers across New England, in pockets where we have been able to find small stashes of these unique, c***r-specific heirloom apple trees. In the late 1800’s, the largest refined c***r mill in the world was located in Sherborn, MA, exporting a “champagne c***r” to England and other places abroad. With such a rich history of c***r making in the Northeast, it is hard to fathom how this tradition has virtually disappeared. However, with the legacy of c***r here in Sherborn, MA, it feels like an ideal place to help reignite this tradition. In another example of a semi-forgotten slice of history, we discovered a gem of American folklore that begged us for attention. The tall-tale of Captain Alfred Bulltop Stormalong describes a larger-than-life figure, epically tall, originating out of New England and heralded as the greatest deep-water sailor to have ever lived. Stormalong’s story came out of the era of clipper ships and whalers, and the giant “Stormy” was known to swill hard c***r out of barrels while washing down his favorite meal of shark meat and whale soup. at the end, abbreviating Alfred Bulltop. This “A.B.” came to be known as “able bodied”, and the term “able bodied seamen” was born from this story. This term “able bodied” serves as the badge for our brand. We believe that the future is very bright for reviving c***r and reacquainting Americans with a forgotten chapter in their history. There is room for innovation, exploration, and a general good time to be had by those in the pursuit of c***r’s full potential. We’ll be here fine-tuning, learning, growing, and furthering our craft individually. We hope you’ll join us and make it a celebration.

All the beautiful color currently lighting up the White Mountains and the surrounding New England landscape are truly magical this time of year. The shift from color to snowy white is not far off, and we are sending our seasonally spiced c***r out to help usher in the change.

White Mountain Magic is back by popular request, not because it’s winter quite yet. It’s a spiced c***r, it’s c***r season, and honestly, we figured there was no good reason to make you wait. White Mountain Magic has a hint of maple syrup from NH, a blend of unique spices including chicory and cinnamon, and a rich flavor that is both full-bodied yet light at the same time.

White Mountain Magic has earned a host of awards including a significant silver medal at the 2024 International C***r Awards based in the UK.

Behind the scenes of our apple geekery, we have busy making small batches of non-alcoholic c***r blends over the last few years. If we were going to venture into the non-alcoholic world, we wanted it to be something special. Something unique that wasn’t just filtered apple juice in a can. There’s enough of that on the shelf already.

So, after multiple years of tinkering, we are sending our first non-alcoholic creations out into the world. We are launching an “Apple Spritz” line under our new Captain Stormalong brand. The Captain is here to save you from bad beverages. Beverages filled with fake flavors, fake colorings, and any multitude of substitute sugars. Or worse, high fructose corn syrup or good old fashioned cane sugar.

Our “Apple Spritz” line has none of that. Whole apples and ingredients only. No added sugars. And for a 16 ounce can of deliciousness, it’s a total of 100 calories with, again, no added sugar.

And for the styles – We have “Passion Trip”, which features passionfruit puree, hibiscus, freshly pressed c***r, and sparkling water. It’s soooo tasty, but not overly sweet or heavy. Kinda similar to Red Skies at Night if you’ve had that on the hard c***r side.

Next up is “Cape Codder” making use of some of our favorite local fruits – cape cod cranberries. We take NFC cranberry juice and blend with lime puree, fresh pressed c***r and sparkling water. Tart, juicy, and a wonderful cranberry punch. This is not some concentrate or natural flavor fakery. This is a ton of real NFC cranberry flavor, with a bit of lime, and a hint of sweetness from the c***r.

The spritz line is an awesome way to hydrate, enjoy the moment, or spend some quality time with something pure and tasty. And if it’s a bit later in the day and you want to add a dash of your favorite spirit into the mix, they also make a mean cocktail mixer.

We are very excited to introduce “Captain Stormalong”. And we are very excited to introduce our first two offerings under our non-alcoholic line – Passion Trip and Cape Codder.

“Autumnal”. That word has always had a nice ring to it. It feels nice to say.

Well it’s here, Autumn, Fall, Harvest, they all work. For us Fall means apples, and that is the best news of the year.

And what’s not to love? Happy Holidays took home gold in the C***r – Herbed / Spiced category in the 2025 Untappd Community Awards, along with a host of other awards over the years.

It’s a balanced, super flavorful, not-too-sweet, not-too-spicy ode to the apple. And it’s real—that’s the key. No “natural” flavor B.S. No mass-produced pumpkin pie or mulled c***r flavoring. We blend these spices in-house and treat them kindly, pairing them with the perfect c***r companion made from freshly pressed, whole apples.

Happy Holidays is made with freshly pressed apples and real cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, ginger, and allspice. It’s a delicious unfiltered c***r blend with a custom blend of freshly ground, whole spices that tastes amazing. Think “apple pie” but not overly sweet.

Located in Centerville, one of the seven villages of the Town of Barnstable, it’s a great stop whether you’re visiting the local beaches, exploring Cape Cod, or stocking up for the weekend. They carry an incredible array of Stormalong styles and have become one of our top accounts in Massachusetts.

Inside the Making of Riviera

Riviera has been a long time coming.

Head C***rmaker Craig had been thinking about making an Italian aperitivo-inspired c***r for nearly a decade,and the recipe itself has been in development for about two years.

Inspired by the bittersweet character of an Aperol Spritz, Negroni Spritz and traditional Italian amari, Riviera starts with freshly pressed apples fermented to dryness.

We then built our own bitter aperitivo blend using whole spices and herbs and infused them into the c***r base.

The video shows the team prepping, measuring and blending the botanicals that make Riviera what it is. The c***r is infused for about 24 hours with a blend of 15 ingredients, including Seville and Cara Cara orange, hibiscus, chamomile, lavender, rose petals, juniper, vanilla, turmeric, ginger, dandelion, gentian, marshmallow and rhubarb root.

Each ingredient plays a part—citrus, floral aromatics, earthy spice, natural color and layers of bitterness.

The result is a 6.5% ABV c***r that’s dry, citrusy, herbal, floral and pleasantly bitter, with a ruby-orange color that feels right at home on a summer afternoon.

Drink it cold straight from the can, pour it over ice, or try blending it with Legendary Dry or Mass Appeal for a lighter variation.

Riviera is a seasonal release, and we made a limited amount, so once this batch is gone, it’s gone for the season.
