We often get the question how many years does it take to get apples on a tree.
This will be the first big Honeycrisp crop from these trees since we pushed out the trees in the picture and planted them in 2023.
One of our goals before getting a crop on our trees is is the height of the tree to reach the top of the trellis wires which is about 8ft.
It sure takes a lot of patience to be a farmer.

Farm fact Friday: A common question we receive during u-pick season is why is the base of our trees are white?
The main reason we paint the base of our trees white is because it protects the bark from cracking when there is high fluctuations in temperature from night and day. North Carolina weather can change in a hurry like this week with 80 degrees one day and 30 degrees the next night.
