🍿 Big ideas started with plain popcorn!

In our Popcorn Product Lab, learners became product developers, experimenting with flavors, naming their creations, and asking: “Would someone actually buy this?”

Then came the customer taste test! 😋 Learners sampled, voted, and shared feedback to help each team consider what to change before launching their product.

The biggest discovery? Loving your own idea is just the beginning. Listening to your customers helps you make it better. 💡

🍋💎 Young Entrepreneurs, Big Ideas, Bold Moves! 🚀

Big dreams can start at any age! 💡

We were excited to welcome the talented young sisters behind Joyful Lemonade & Coastal Treasures to Philo Learning Collective!

Our learners had the opportunity to hear firsthand how these young entrepreneurs turned their creativity and ideas into real businesses! From taking that first bold step to learning through challenges, their journey was a reminder that age is no limit to creativity, courage, and entrepreneurship! 🌟

Roots are going in, and our food forest is growing! 🌱🌳

Our learners chose the fruit trees they wanted to grow and helped plant them and install the irrigation. Through teamwork and caring for the land, they’re creating a space that will teach and give for years to come. We can’t wait to watch their choices take root! 💚

Something fishy is happening in Ag Lab! 🐟🌱

Our learners are experimenting with adding fish carcasses to the soil as a natural fertilizer, asking questions and exploring how fish scraps might help nourish future plants.

Hands in the soil. Curiosity at work. 💚

Season TWO in our Philo garden!

This year we’re switching things up and trying all new growing techniques, and we’re so grateful to have Jimmy with JP Farms sharing his knowledge and guiding our learners through the process.

There’s something pretty special about having someone from our own community pour their time and expertise into our kids. From preparing the soil to planting, growing, problem-solving, and eventually harvesting, it’s real, hands-on learning from someone who knows his stuff.

Can’t wait to see what we grow together this season!

💡 Big Ideas. Bold Moves. Real-World Learning.

Our Philo learners had the opportunity to learn directly from JD Ribald, founder of BizKidzUSA, during a special Real-World Entrepreneur visit!

Through stories, questions, and conversation, learners explored what it really takes to turn an idea into action, creativity, courage, problem-solving, persistence, and the willingness to keep learning. 🚀

Experiences like this remind our learners that entrepreneurship isn’t just something we study, it’s something they can experience, practice, and become.

For the 15th year in a row, 38 of Florida’s Extension service offices will be collecting the protein-packed favorite. All donations will be distributed to local food pantries to feed the communities they serve.
