The Ranck family has farmed with our cooperative in Pennsylvania since 2000. Farmer Andrew grew up on the farm and now works alongside his family on the same land. I recreated my favorite childhood candy bar and now I can’t go back. There was a vending machine by my high school that I could still describe to you from memory, decades later. Third row, second column: THAT caramel-cookie-chocolate bar that almost never made it home in one piece.

So I made it completely from scratch using my favorite go-to dairy products from Organic Valley : buttery shortbread, a thick layer of real caramel, and a full dunk in melted chocolate. Somehow, it tastes even better than I remember.
