We’ve been getting some questions about our w**e school so we wanted to share a little more about what to expect each week- swipe through to learn more!

The Vinguard’s varietal comparison series kicks off on Monday with Pinot Noir and Chardonnay at our friends Fox and Lion . You’ll have a chance to try Chablis alongside Jura-style Chardonnay from Oregon and other regions in France and the US, and Pinot Noirs from Burgundy, Central Europe, Australia, Oregon and more. As of now, we’re slated to taste 12 w**es, with the list still growing.

Reminder that our next series of W**e Classes starts next week! 💃

Enjoy learning more about what you love in a casual and welcoming environment all while tasting some truly fantastic w**es! These classes support The Vinguard and all of our events so please bring a friend along with you! 🥂

Classes are every Monday at Fox and Lion and sessions are $95 or $75 for F&B workers and seniors.

Love W**e and Hate Tests? Then The Vinguard w**e classes are for you. Our classes are all about making you fall in love with w**e, if you haven’t already. And if you have, you’ll fall a little deeper. At least 10 w**es are tasted in each class, and there is discussion of the history and origins of regions and grapes, as well as current trends.

We’re having a series of varietal comparison classes starting September 14, and a one-off on Tuscany.

All classes will be at Fox & Lion Bread Co. Here’s the schedule.

Monday, September 14: Pinot Noir and Chardonnay

Monday, September 21: Tuscany and a Little Umbria Rescheduled

Monday, September 28: Chenin Blanc and Cabernet Franc

Monday, October 5: Riesling and Gamay

Making W**e Under Authoritarian Rule with with Keto Ninindze of Oda W**e and and Keto Puturidze of Makaridze W**e from Georgia.

The Republic of Georgia has had glimpses of democracy since the disintegration of the Soviet Union 35 years ago, enough to whet the thirst of many in the country. Unfortunately, many of the steps towards a freer country have been eroded, with press freedoms and free speech as primary targets. At the same time, many in the Georgian w**e community have remained undeterred, showing up to protest even it risked their safety. W**emaker/activists, Keto Ninindze and Keto Puturidze, will shed some light on the current situation on their country, and efforts by the government to silence them and other w**emakers who are speaking up, and how they continue to persist.

Please join us for a discussion about biodynamic farming with two pioneers on Wed. April 15 at 12 pm PDT!

🍇 Virginie Joly of Coulee de Serrant witnessed her father convert the family property in the early 80s to biodynamic farming, way before biodynamic was part of the w**e lexicon. After studying music, foreign languages, and alternative medicine, she returned to the estate in 2002 and has been a huge proponent of biodynamic farming ever since.

🍇 Deirdre Heekin has been making w**e and c***r in the Châteauguay Forest mountains and the Champlain Valley with her husband, Caleb Barber, since 2007. When she was buying w**e for their restaurant, she noticed that all the w**es she loved were from biodynamic producers, so she went to France to study biodynamics and brought many of the practices back to Vermont, where she makes celestial w**es from hybrid grapes.

It’s an honor to have two of the most esteemed biodynamic producers join us for this discussion, demystifying the age old practices of biodynamic farming, its potential impacts on addressing climate change, and its influence on agriculture.
