Our 2023 apple season is about to start. We picked a load of State Fair apples on the evening of Monday 21st. Zestars also are ready to pick. We should be picking Zestars this Thursday the 24th.

We will continue to have pickled asparagus, honey and frozen apple cider for sale.​

We will be open for business on weekends starting Saturday August 26th. Our hours will be:

Friday 10AM to 6PM (Starting September 1st)
Saturday 10AM to 6PM
Sunday 10AM to 4PM
Expected apple availability:

August 26th:

Zestar - Crisp and Juicy and excellent eating.
State Fair - Striped red, juicy, moderately tart. Flavor is sprightly tart and good for eating and baking.
September 1st

Sweetango - Crisp and sweet, with a lively touch of citrus, honey and spice.
Mid to Late September

Honeycrisp - Large, dappled red fruit with a well-balanced flavor. Has excellent storage life. Fresh eating!
Sweet Sixteen - Super sweet with a flavor of vanilla with just a hint of molasses and fine bourbon.
Frostbite - Tangy, very sweet, and juicy and is almost like biting into a piece of sugarcane.
Snappy Mac - Large, blushing red fruit and a spicy-sweet flavor perfect for eating fresh or baking.
Cortland - Sweet/tart. Very white flesh which holds color well.
Wolf River - This is a mildly sweet and juicy apple with just a little bit of spice and tartness.
Late September to Early October

Honey Gold - Golden to yellow-green fruit. Sweet, crisp and juicy.
SnowSweet - Savory, almost buttery flavor! Sweet with a slight tart balance and rich overtones.
Haralson - Crisp and juicy, having a tart flavor. Good for eating, cooking, and pies.
Fireside - Crisp, fresh, sweet and a hint of slight banana taste.
Prairie Spy - Juicy, crisp and mildly sweet with a rich, aromatic subacid flavor.

Asparagus season has ended as of this last weekend. I walked the entire field and could not scrounge up 50lbs. The hot/dry weather forced the asparagus to bolt to ferns.

We will continue have pickled asparagus, honey and frozen apple cider for sale.

Please give us a call or text if coming to the orchard on the weekend for purchasing any of those items.

We expect the apple season to start in late August with Zestar and State Fair Apples.

Asparagus has popped out and we are busy picking to be ready for our first weekend which will be May 20th.

Saturday 10am to 6pm

We Pick: $3.00/lb

You Pick: $2.50/lb

Pickled Asparagus:

Ends: $8.00/qt

We will have a limited supply of Maple and Boxelder syrup this year. The weather was not very cooperative for a good harvest.

Asparagus is right around the corner. I found at least on spear trying to emerge. I expect that we may be open by the weekend of May 20th. Stay tuned of updates. I will update this page at the end of this week as to the status of fresh asparagus availability.

The asparagus season is coming to an end. Our last weekend for asparagus will be June 25 & 26. Pickled asparagus will still be available while supply lasts.
Our hours on Saturday are 10am to 6pm and Sunday 10am to 3pm.

Asparagus has finally taken off and it looks like to be plenty out in the field that can be picked this weekend.
We will also have pre picked asparagus available.
We will be open Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Monday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Asparagus picking is getting closer it is coming up but very spotty at this time I expect that we will be open for picking starting Saturday of memorial Day weekend May 28th please call if you have any questions or a status on the asparagus.

Cider Time Orchard is looking for people to help pick asparagus starting near the end of May through June.

Will pay $0.50/lb. As a bonus, will pay $0.75/lb on those days you pick over 100lbs.

To give you an idea at wage potential, I am an older, overweight guy and I can still pick 20 to 30lbs per hour. If you pick 30lbs an hour you will make $22.50 an hour.

There are no requirements on the number of hours to work each day.
