Chasing Fall — Episode 2: Prescott 🍂🎃

If you’ve never done an overnight fall trip to Prescott, this is your sign and I have the perfect itinerary for you.

We stayed at Air Village, a boutique collection of renovated mid century Airstreams located just one block from Whiskey Row. You’ll have access to a private porch, a hammock, communal fire pits, and a location that puts you walking distance from everything. It is such a special place to stay. 🌿

But the real highlight of a fall trip to Prescott is Mt. Vernon Avenue. A street lined with gorgeous historic Victorian homes that has been a beloved Halloween tradition for over sixty years. Every single home goes all out! 🎃

📅 Plan your trip: Mt. Vernon Halloween Town is best experienced late October evenings leading up to Halloween. The street closes to traffic at 3 PM on Halloween night.

Chasing Fall — Episode 1: Mount Lemmon 🍂🌲

Arizona has fall foliage and Mount Lemmon outside of Tucson is one of the most stunning places to see it. This mountain sits at over 9,000 feet elevation and in the fall it transforms.

The drive up Catalina Highway is an experience all on its own. You leave the desert behind and climb into a completely different world. When you get up there, do not skip the Cookie Cabin. Fresh baked cookies and pizza right on the mountain. We got the snickerdoodle and it was incredible. Big enough to share but you might not want to. 🍪

📅 Plan your trip: Peak fall color on Mount Lemmon typically hits mid to late October. Foliage usually fades after Halloween so don’t wait too long!

🥾 For the best leaf peeping head to the Aspen Trail, Marshall Gulch Loop, or Bear Wallow Road at mile marker 22.1 on Mount Lemmon Highway.

September in the Valley means one thing: fall season is finally within reach. Here’s where to celebrate it this month.

🌶️ Arizona Chile Festival —Sept 4, Mountain Park Church, Ahwatukee. Hatch chile roasting, food trucks, and a chile-eating contest, free admission.

🎪 Coconino County Fair — Sept 3-6, Flagstaff. Classic fair food and small town charm.

🎶 Goldrush Music Festival — Sept 11-12, Rawhide Western Town. Live music plus the food and drink vendors that come with it.

🍽️ Fall Arizona Restaurant Week — Sept 18-27. Prix-fixe menus at some of the Valley’s best restaurants.

🧄 13th Annual Garlic Festival — Sept 19-20 & 26-27, Queen Creek Olive Mill. Free admission, cooking demos, wine and beer tastings, and a garlic eating contest.

🍺 Brewsology — Sept 26, Arizona Science Center. 40+ breweries, 100 beers, and after hours museum access including planetarium shows.

If you’re looking for the most fun birthday dinner experience in the valley, I found it. 🎂🍲

Haidilao is Arizona’s first location of this global hot pot restaurant and it’s in Mesa. The food and drinks were so good and the matcha is a must but you really go to this place for the experience.

They come out singing and dancing for your birthday, give you a gift, and a slice of cake. Even on a regular outing every kid gets a toy and everyone gets ice cream and a goody bag too.

We opted for the noodle dance (where someone comes out, hand stretches fresh noodles right at your table while performing a dance before dropping them in the pot) and it was one of the most fun things I’ve ever seen at a restaurant. 🍜

Be sure to follow them on social media because they have a secret phrase you can use for additional free goodies. 👀
