đŸ’„NMF PHOENIX PARKING LOT UPDATEđŸ’„
Good afternoon to all of our faithful NMF GUESTS of the “OG” Shop in Phoenix/Arcadia since 2017!
A couple weeks ago we mentioned in our Fresh Forecast emails that the owners of the property (our common parking lot) next to Nelson’s and The Wandering Tortoise were building a permanent structure on the lot, and that the existing parking would be “different” during construction.
The project started today, and we wanted to give you a heads up before you arrived at the shop. We haven’t been provided much information about the project or given a map yet to help guide our common Guests once they arrive at the shop for meat + fish Togo or grabbing a bite from our menu and going next door to eat.
We are being told the project will last about 3-4 months and that the end result will be “a good thing” for all of you that support our local businesses. Cleaner, safer, easier to navigate, etc.
While we don’t have any control over this new project, we are working on some new procedures at NMF Phoenix to help you navigate the space and help expedite your visit.
There will be more communication to come when receive it from them.

On this we want to recognize some of the strong, independent, and gracious women that helped form the foundation for and continue to support Nelson’s Meat + Fish! (None more so than my wife DD, who knew nothing about the work and effort it takes to survive in our industry, and still is our #1 supporter and fan😘)
And it just so happens to fall on our Matriarch’s (Mom to Nellie) BIRTHDAY 🎉🎉🎉. Happy Birthday Mom! And thank you for not giving up on this “problem child”so many years ago! You along with all the supportive women in our lives are a big part of why NMF exists
We also want to recognize the amazing Chefs that have supported Nelson’s over the years and have become close friends and advocates of our mission including 
just a few of the many women that have helped us grow and become successful.
And finally to our Guests. WOMEN make up the majority of daily Guest transactions at the shop, followers on our social media, and marketing by word of mouth to new raving fans of Nelson’s!

We’ve all worked extremely hard over the last 8 years, and are so grateful that once again has recognized NELSON’s as The Best Seafood in The Valley.
CONSISTENCY
is our mantra, in both outstanding service and quality meat + fish. This would have been 8 straight years (we were told) but the category wasn’t an option in 2020 & 2022.
We hope you’ll remember this when you start making decisions and planning your holiday feasts. We are so grateful for the recognition and ALL of your support!

“Good Food is Transformative”
About a month ago visiting Portland Maine my family from New England brought us a gift
an apple
but this was no ordinary apple. It was a MACOUN apple. (My favorite apple)
Now I’m not sure if living in the dessert for the last 12 years had anything to do with it, but one bite out of the MACOUN (understand its Fall in New England). and I was transported immediately to a childhood memory picking and eating in an orchard.
MACOUN’s are a sweet, aromatic, and juicy apple, a cross between the McIntosh and Jersey Black varieties, developed in New York in the early 1900s. (Also known as the “New England Desert Apple”
Today we received an entire flat from our Family to enjoy over the holidays
sharing all of this because when we talk about “Celebrating Great Food”this is a great example.
Thanksgiving is less than 2 weeks away, and Christmas will be here before you know it. We hope you’ll share all your traditions, food memories, and favorite recipes with our TEAM
and share that love of food with Family and Friends this Holiday Season.
