Weekly check-in. 🌸

This week was a big one🫶🏻

Not only did I have cake orders (and a few last-minute orders that I always love finding a way to fit in), but I also officially launched my second company, Picnic Perfect. 🧺✨

In between all of that, I caught up on laundry, spent time with my family, and honestly allowed myself to slow down a little bit.

As I sit here thinking about everything that’s happened over the last few years, it’s hard not to get emotional.

I don’t think younger Kimmie would believe any of this.

Not because she wasn’t capable of it, but because there was a time when she couldn’t even imagine a future that looked like this.

A business owner.
Now somehow the owner of two businesses.
A wife.
A mom.
Someone who gets to wake up every day and build a life she genuinely loves.

And a huge part of that is because of my husband. He has always believed in me, supported my crazy ideas, and made me feel like I can chase any dream I set my mind to.

This upcoming week is looking like a busy one, and I’ll be posting my availability calendar later tonight or tomorrow.

For now, I’m just feeling grateful.

Grateful for every order.
Grateful for every share, recommendation, and kind word.
Grateful that I get to do what I love.

Melynda was a customer of mine, I was deeply saddened to hear what happened to her family. If you have the means, please consider donating to help their babies. 🤍

The Pierre community is reeling from the devastating and sudden loss of Les Schwab Tire Centers’ Pierre Store Manager, Shane Willis, and his wife, Melynda, who died in a car accident on April 29. Shane and Melynda leave behind two young children.

Weekly stat check because honestly… what even was this week 😭

Friday, I worked an 18-hour day. I got a few hours of sleep and woke up bright and early to keep working.

This week looked like:
• 8 cakes
• 276 cupcakes
• 144 cookies
• 36 macarons
• 24 brownies
• 12 shooters
• 15 cake pops
• takeout orders
• taking care of injured wild bunnies
• soccer Tuesday and Thursday
• softball Wednesday
• managing kids while working because it’s summer now 😅
• trying to manage my own schedule

Sometimes I genuinely don’t know how things work out, but somehow they always do.

And I think that’s what happens when you genuinely love what you do and care deeply about the people you do it for.

As always, I appreciate your support because behind this business, it’s just me trying my absolute best every day to create something beautiful for my people. 🤍

Now respectfully… I need a vacation and a disrespectfully full bank account.🤪🤣

Employee of the Month at Perfectly Baked has officially been awarded to me for the 47th consecutive month in a row. 🏆

The committee said my qualifications included:
• working 18-hour shifts with absolutely no regard for my wellbeing
• surviving primarily on caffeine and blind confidence
• buttercream on at least 73% of my clothing at all times
• remembering customer orders in the shower instead of at normal times
• mild panic or full panic just depends
• Coffee and chaos….again
• severe overbooking
• and somehow still making it work

This award also goes to me for continuing to show up to work despite being dramatically underpaid and emotionally unstable. 🤍😂 Congratulations me😘

Okay y’all, I need help/advice. 😭

We found two wild baby bunnies at the park tonight and one of them has an injured front paw.

Right now I have them in a warm, quiet setup with soft blankets while I try to figure out what to do next. I’ve been researching as much as I can and trying to keep them safe and calm, but realistically I cannot fix a baby bunny paw myself. 🥺

I’m also not really financially equipped for emergency wildlife/vet care, but I genuinely want to help these babies the best I can. So if you’re willing to help in any way please reach out.

Does anyone around the Pierre area know of a wildlife rehabber, rescue, vet, or anyone experienced with wild baby bunnies that could help or point me in the right direction ASAP? Pro bono or for a small fee? I’m desperate.

70 servings of bread pudding
50 servings of toffee torte
12 chocolate-covered Rice Krispies treats

I don’t think you heard me- FOURTEEN CAKES🤯
1-4. I DID that. 😮‍💨😅

Plus:
• 2 field trips
• My babies 5th Birthday (a whole freaking hand you guys✋🏻😭)
• 1 School Concert
• and one missed last day of school activity because I got the time wrong (still recovering from that one, don’t think I’ll ever recover tbh 😭)

To all the graduates - Congratulations! 🎓🥹
To all the birthday babies- Happiest birthdays. 🫶🥰

And to all of my amazing customers, thank you will never feel like enough.
I want you to be so sick of hearing me say thank you, because I genuinely don’t think you realize how much your support changes my life, supports my family, and keeps this dream going.
