🐽 Because getting ready for Fair Week isn’t quite as easy as it looks…😅

There’s a lot of practice that goes into getting that perfect show pig ready:

✔️ Must be clean
✔️ Must walk good
✔️ Must not squeal
✔️ Must eat good
✔️ MOST IMPORTANTLY must RELAX. 😂

If our show pig could talk, I’m pretty sure this is exactly what she’d be saying right now. 🤣🐷

Come watch us in the show ring 6PM 9/2, then come back around for the livestock auction 7pm 9/3 and maybe you’ll decide this purdy girl needs to come home with YOU! ❤️🐽

Raising your own pork 🐷🩷

Pigs grow efficiently, they’re smart, and with good feed and steady care, they produce high‑quality meat for your freezer in just a few months.

Most people start with feeder pigs, typically 6–8 weeks old, weaned, eating solid feed well, and ready to grow.

Pigs convert feed to meat better than almost any other livestock. But they need consistent nutrition to grow evenly and finish well. We didn’t go cheap on feed!!!

Consistency is what gave us nice growth and good eating quality.

Pigs don’t need fancy barns, but they do need:
• dry bedding
• good shelter protected from the wind
• strong fencing

Pigs drink a surprising amount of water, often 5+ gallons per day depending on size and weather.

Daily care is simple:
• Feed
• Water
• Bedding check
• Quick look at behavior and appetite
• Brushing
• Walking

Most people harvest pigs between 250–320 lbs live weight, depending on cut preferences.

A well‑finished pig gives you a freezer full of versatile, flavorful pork, like chops, roasts, ribs, ground pork, and sausage.
