Apparently it’s the Year of the Horse.
Uhh guys.
First of all.
Before we just climb on and declare vibes and destiny and personal growth…we need to lunge it.
You do not just hop on a random horse and see what happens. That is how you meet the ground spiritually, emotionally, and physically. You work things out first. You let it buck. You let it air its opinions. You let it process whatever unresolved trauma it picked up from a plastic bag three counties away.
Because have you met a horse?
I love them. Truly. Majestic. Powerful. Poetry with hooves. Also one mild stomach ache away from calling it quits on this mortal coil.
They will spook at nothing.
They will colic over everything.
They will convince you they are fine until they are absolutely not fine and now everyone is sweating and someone is Googling “normal gut sounds horse” at 2 a.m.
Which brings me to my professional conclusion:
The horse is just a Jersey cow in equine form.
Same energy.
Same fragile drama.
Same “I am beauty and chaos wrapped in a questionable digestive system.”
So if this really is the Year of the Horse, here’s my proposal.
We don’t just declare it.
We don’t slap on a halter of optimism and hope for the best.
We circle it a few times.
We watch for pinned ears.
We acknowledge that it might kick if startled.
We accept that it may require electrolytes, prayer, and a strong sense of humor.
Because the Year of the Horse isn’t about charging forward blindly.
It’s about knowing when to give it some space, when to listen, and when to admit that yes, this year might be brilliant…but it also might try to throw us, colic, and then act offended that we’re worried.
Which honestly feels pretty on brand already.
