Super Bowl Specials & More
Hello Everyone!
We’re writing you on another gloriously sunny, albeit somewhat strange run of “winter weather” here in Portland. We’ve been dragging our feet on sprucing up our patio for the Spring and Summer Season, but perhaps the season is upon us?Let’s hope not, and that here is more rain in the forecast, with true patio weather still a few months away.
A new month means new specials at Sebastiano’s. We’re bringing back our most popular Chicken Cutlet of the year last year, the Hot Honey Chicken: breaded and fried chicken breast bathed in a honey, Calabrian chili and sherry vin sauce. Served on a toasted hoagie with caper mayo, arugula, melty provolone. On the vegetarian side, we’re roasting beets with our orange marmellata, layering them with a lemony-fennel slaw, and served between toasted focaccia spread with an herby whipped ricotta. Molto bene! Our vegetarian arancino right now is a banger with an artichoke and seasoned ricotta filling. A reminder we have hot arancini ready to serve each day in the winter months, until they sell out. Also mushroom marsala soup is back on for the next week or so.
On the sweet side of things, our Bombolini this month are chocolate cream that are perfectly creamy and chocolatey. For Valentine’s Day we’ll have special tricolores that are in hues of pink with raspberry jam and chocolate. We’ll also be making fun Italian conversation butter cookie hearts (think “Amore” and “Ciao Bella”) so perhaps make a note to swing by Sebastiano’s on February 13th or 14th for Valentine's Day goodies.
In terms of special events, it wouldn’t be ‘merica without The Super Bowl. Last year we did a take on Sicilian quick, casual street food (Tavola Calda) with our Tavola Calda Super Bowl spread and we’re bringing it back this year with minor improvements- more dips! This year’s platter has herby brioche pepperoni pizza rolls, stuffed focaccia squares, two dipping sauces (marinara sauce AND spinach artichoke ricotta dip) as well as focaccia crisps, marinated olives and fresh celery. It will both win the party, and your budget, at only $60.
Please find the full menu of Special Orders for Sunday below, with Tavola Calda, whole Muffulettas, Radicchio Salads, and Olive Oil Cakes which must be pre-ordered on Tock before the weekend.
Lastly a special shout out to everyone who visited us last week. Sebastiano’s was able to raise and donate over $2,700+ to frontline, immigrant supporting organizations in Minneapolis. These are very challenging times we live in and will get thru it if we support each other however we can. Hopefully the Trump Administration’s experience in Minneapolis will make them think twice before heading our way.
Thanks for your continued support of our small, family business. We look forward to feeding you soon.
All our best!
