Yesterday we celebrated something pretty special, My Great Grandma Betty, turning 100! 🤍✨🎂

It was such a beautiful day celebrating her life, all she has lived through, and the family she has created. Family means everything to me, and I feel so lucky to have had a day like this together to celebrate!

Barks & Blooms was honored to provide some of the flowers for a little bloom bar in Grandma Betty’s honor. We didn’t grow all of the blooms, but it was so fun seeing some of ours tucked in among all the other beautiful flowers. 🌸 And since I don’t often get to make a bouquet just for myself with flowers I didn’t grow… I couldn’t resist bringing one home. 🥰💐🌿 A pretty little reminder of a beautiful day celebrating 100 years of Grandma Betty. ❤️✨

The last Wednesday of August 🌿 Somehow summer is already slipping away, but the garden is still giving us all the bright, happy colors. 🌸🌻

We’ll be at the Big Lake Farmers Market today from 3–7 PM with lots of fresh bouquets. 🩷💛💜💐

We know back-to-school, sports, and busy schedules have everyone running in a million directions. But if you have someone in mind who could use a little sunshine, you know where to find us. 😉💛

It’s been a little quiet around here lately, but trust us… there is SO much happening behind the scenes! 🌸

Between work, our kids, and keeping up with the flowers, there is never a dull moment around here. 😂

The Big Lake Farmers Market has been going so incredibly well for us, and we truly cannot thank this community enough for all of the support. Every purchase, kind word, and familiar face means more to us than you know. ❤️

As long as the weather cooperates, we’ll be at the Big Lake Farmers Market every Wednesday until October 🎃🌻

We also have one more month of CSA deliveries before the season comes to an end. And if you’re looking for a special-order bouquet before October, keep us in mind! 💐

This handful of blooms is headed to the compost pile. 🌿

I know… it seems crazy to toss flowers that are still so beautiful. One of the questions we get asked most often is, “What do you do with the flowers that don’t sell?”

The truth is, every flower has a purpose. Some are dried, some are saved for seed, and some are returned right back to the earth through compost. 🌱

It might look wasteful from the outside, but on our flower farm, nothing is ever truly wasted. These blooms will feed the soil that grows next season’s flowers, completing the cycle that makes sustainable farming possible. 🤍🌸🦋

So before compost, here’s some color to brighten this rainy day! ☔️😉💐
