Borgic Farms was honored to host Congresswoman Mary Miller, members of her staff as well as Illinois Farm Bureau yesterday at our Nokomis sow farm facility. Our district, which is represented by Congresswoman Mary Miller, is the 8th largest pork producing district in the United States.

We appreciate the opportunity to show Congresswoman Miller our farm, introducing her to our team and talking with her about topics that have huge impacts on our farm and the Pork industry as a whole.

The Borgic Bridge to Development team attended the inaugural offering of the Team Lead Course offered in the United States last week in Springfield, IL. Borgic Farms has a commitment to their team and the industry to continue the education and development of the future leaders that our industry will need and this class was a great addition to our education toolbox.

This was a full two days spent developing our communication styles and employee development training. In addition to the classroom, all of those in attendance were able to develop relationships with people from all over our industry. I can't speak for all of those who attended but I do know the people from the Borgic team are looking forward to continuing to build those relationships.

Ag Leadership Partners has done an amazing job putting this program together and Shonda is an outstanding facilitator. The TLC Course is a program that will help our industry grow and develop the next generation of Pork leadership.

This was an amazing opportunity and we are very grateful that we were able to attend this course. I'm looking forward to further options for this class including Spanish versions.

Congratulations Luis! Very well deserved.

May Monthly Swine Spotlight

We are recognizing Luis Molina Estrada, Assistant Manager of Production at Borgic Farms from Newton, IL, for the May Monthly Swine Spotlight.

Luis has been a valued member of Borgic Farms for nearly three years. “During this time, he has developed strong skills and consistently excelled in both the farrowing and gilt development departments.” Says nominator Suzi Steber, Director of Human Resources at Borgic Farms. Suzi continues that recently; Luis earned a promotion to Assistant Manager of Production at our Newton Sow Farm. In addition to his extensive swine knowledge, he serves as a PQA Advisor and leads a significant portion of the PQA training across the Borgic system. Luis is also certified in Mental Health First Aid.

Over the past three years, Luis has shown remarkable personal and professional growth. He brings a positive attitude to work each day, and his genuine care for both animals and people make him an invaluable asset to our team.

The Montgomery Co CEO group took time to visit our Nokomis sow farm today. We had a great time talking with them about their businesses and showing them ours. A very impressive group of young entrepreneurs.
