We love gorgeous fall weather and colors, and it’s here in full abundance with apple turnovers and apple cake made from a variety of our organic apples from our orchard!!! 🍎

FYI we’ll be closing early on Sunday so come early to get stuff!! Last weekend we had 5 different kinds of creative scones so not sure if they’ll be that many but we’ll have a selection, along with cookies and galettes and sourdough breads. And flowers, honey, squashes and beautiful fresh vegetables!!

Everthing totally organic and just baked and fresh picked.

Without further ado, it is now Fall. Or autumn. Harvest season, whatever you want to call it 🍂 What we lack in pumpkin spice lattes, we make up for in a wonderful array of different harvest things: an abundance of flowers for just-cut bouquets, lots of vegetables, heirloom apples and our honey and a variety of sourdough breads, along with the bakery where it’s all made with creativity and best ingredients for the most flavor.

The Redding Land Trust Hike is at Great Meadow Farm this Saturday, 10/3, starting at 11:00am!! Should be a nice weather day to walk around this historic scenic farm property and see the hayfields, orchards and gardens. Please park on the dirt road and meet at the farmstand at the big barn 👨‍🌾

The tables will be packed with tomatoes, potatoes, purple broccoli, baby bok choy, Japanese white turnips, squashes, pumpkins and of course the breads and the bakery, along with bouquets and—now apples!!!—and honey.

Everything organic, fresh baked and just picked.

We were surprised today to discover all sorts of interesting squashes growing alongside the pumpkins in the hayfield garden. All kinds of shapes and colors and not sure how they got in there but glad to find them. The watermelons in the old cedar garden are almost ready. Should be worth waiting for. Because they are all organic they are superfoods. We also have tons of dahlias and varieties of sunflowers and zinnias which will be fresh cut and made into bouquets by our friend Sue 💐 Also, we’ll of course have sourdough baguettes and breads and, back by popular request, the bakery will have plum cakes and pumpkin muffins.

All true organic and fresh.

This is the best time of year!! Watermelons and pumpkins have a couple of weeks to go and, when organic, are superfoods because of the healthful minerals they pull from good soil. The bakery will be packed again with just made galettes, cookies, scones and breads and we’ll have various size bouquets of dahlias and other flowers 🪻🌸

Next time someone asks if we have animals at our farm we will say yes. No cows or goats but we do have a magnificent bobcat that occasionally walks around at dusk like it owns the place. Don’t worry!! you can still bring dogs and babies because first name Bob last name Cat is very antisocial and only comes out at night 🐈

Looks like nice summer weather coming this weekend. We’ll have big beautiful bouquets of dahlias and all kinds of flowers, sourdough breads, galettes, cookies, scones, etc., and tables full of greens, purples, lots of different color and types of heirloom tomatoes, potatoes, beans, lettuce, giant scallions, etc. We also have zucchini flowers upon request!!!

We will be open this weekend unless total rain-out. I’ve been waiting all week to see about the psycho-weather and it’s now looking ok/passable for Saturday (today) and probably the same for Sunday. Once we get into cooler temps in the Fall the plan is to move into the barn to the vintage store & farmstand & bakery… we’ll see

The tables will be full with heirloom tomatoes, zucchini flowers, patty pans, beans, giant scallions, onions, greens, purples and more, and the best sourdough breads, and the bakery galettes, cookies and scones and bouquets with dahlias and other flowers 💐

We’re dizzy for dahlias! Dahlias are a unique flower in that there are many varieties, and we’re growing a lot of them. Are you guys interested in buying flowers?? We’ve begun selling a few bouquets and they seem to be catching on 💐

Stay posted in terms of how the weather’s looking this weekend. We’ll try, maybe Saturday morning, and we’re already baking. But stay tuned!!
