Bring your clean empty containers to Hansen Honey Farm east of Rhinelander, to get them filled with delicious raw honey for the one-day sale price of $4.89/lb.! If you want to skip the line on Saturday, you can drop your containers off the week ahead of the sale (filled containers MUST be picked up on Saturday Sep. 12 to qualify for sale price). We will also be offering 15% Off all honey products in the store, including Creamed Honey, Hot Honey, Artisan Honey, Honey Taffy, and Honey Caramel.
If you don't have your own jars, you can also purchase a pre-filled jar or bucket.

It is our pleasure to support the WHPA!

🐝 Another WHPA family that knows how to make volunteering a family affair!

Pictured here are Chris, Faith, and Gideon Hansen—although with Chris’s big family, we’re not sure we’ve ever managed to get the whole Hansen crew in the same room at once! 😊

Chris serves as one of WHPA’s District Chairs, and we can always count on him to work a few shifts at the Wisconsin State Fair—usually with a couple of his kiddos joining in.

Faith also shares her talents with WHPA as a member of our Communications Committee, where we especially appreciate her creativity and knack for creating great digital content.

We’re grateful for families like the Hansens who give their time and talents in so many different ways. Thank you, Chris, Faith, Gideon, and the entire Hansen crew, for supporting WHPA and Wisconsin beekeeping! 🍯💛

Registration is officially open for our 2026 Overwintering 101 Class! This class is for individuals who are committed to learning tips and tricks for successfully overwintering beehives in northern climates. We will cover basic information including:
•Year-round management practices that support overwintering
•A basic overview of honeybee wintering behaviors
•Different wintering strategies
•Feed and insulation recommendations
•How and when to offer mite treatments
•Tips for supporting your bees needs leading into winter
This class will likely be comprised of an indoor class portion, as well as a field portion. Taught by Chris Hansen and our state bee inspector Brooke Nikkila-Sommerfeldt, this class is sure to be informative!

It's a beautiful place to be a pollinator! Despite the smoke and heatwaves of the summer, we have been thrilled to see an uptick in pollinators around the farm! Alongside our own honeybees we have noticed an abundance of butterflies, bumblebees, and several types of native bees. These are great things to behold and a great reminder to continue planting native and supporting your local pollinators!
