When we started this business about 10 years ago, our intent was to build a small farm business that helped to sustain our family, feed our local communities, allowed us to work together as a family, help us to give back to our community, and build a business that supported a lifestyle in agriculture that we genuinely enjoyed. We never had ideas of growing our business so big that we worked ourselves out of the parts of the farming, business, and interacting with our customers, that we love.
In the beginning we had to offer many different sales channels to be able to grow and sell the amount of beef and pork that we raised. That let us to saying “yes” to many opportunities and sales channels as a way to grow and get our local meats on your tables.
Thanks to you, our customer base has grown tremendously over the years, and we are so incredibly grateful. With the growth we have reached a point where we simply just don't have enough meat to supply every sales channel that we have created.
This has forced us to step back and take a look at our business and our current stage of life and ask ourselves how we should move forward to best serve our customers as well as best serving our family.
So, after a lot of thought, many conversations, and trying to take an honest look at balancing work and family, (and yes, some tears!), we have made decision to pivot our business model and sales channels. Moving forward, we will focus our meat sales to farmers markets and scheduled on-farm sales days and are moving away from online sales, home delivery and CSAs.
While we know change is hard and this change may be disappointing for some of you, please know that this decision was most definitely not made lightly. We are incredibly grateful for every home delivery, CSA order, market purchase, and every person who has supported our farm dreams along the way.
We aren't going anywhere; we are just choosing a different path forward that allows us to still be able to provide our community with great local meats in a way that both serves customers and our family.
