I was out in our back field last night planting some of the last of our zinnias (estimating we have 10-15 thousand zinnias), and couldn't help but look around and see how far we've come.

When I decided to start Endress Acres, it was just dahlias and 6 raised beds. Looking out into the field last night, we've quadrupled our growing space of only summer annuals. The same place those 6 beds initially lived.

Our dahlias now live in the front of our home (2 additional beds there and a bonus strip out back because me AND the dahlias have no patience).

So magical to think of where this little flower farm took me and so excited for where we're headed.

As soon as I clean up the back field, a picture will be posted. It's massive. I still think it's too small, but hoping to add on each season. We can't wait to see you this season, friends 💕

Missing the ranunculus already, but leaving the season with a lot of learning!
1. This was our first season with the high tunnel. It got HOT. We'll be planting half our harvest in the fall and the second in January - NOT February this year. February was too late and ended up getting too hot.
2. Weeds. HOLY WEEDS. Need a much better weeding process in 2027. Same with bugs! They were minimal, but they were there and they were savages.
3. More along the heat talk track - with the higher temps, I was a nervous wreck to fertilize and I think we needed it. I just didn't want to risk burning my premium crop.
4. Ventilation. Need to work on cooling situation in case it does heat up!

Already ready for next year with tons of notes!!

Always so, so honored when MIA • DETROIT WEDDING AND COUPLES PHOTOGRAPHER asks us to help with her floral install for content day. Everything came together so beautifully and we are so excited to see how everyone's images turn out! Big shout out to Adams Manor, too! Such a gorgeous home/event venue and SO close to us! More ranunculus! Shocking! Doing our best to keep the high tunnel alive and thriving despite the warm weather. Watering like a crazy person AND the hubs installed a fan to pull the heat out. Hoping for a few more weeks of blooms. Also, if you're not growing anemones, you need to. They constantly out perform themselves and they're less impacted by the warmer weather. Here's to more beautiful flowers!

Pulling ranunculus and anemones every day and still feeling like it's not enough. Our high tunnel is doing so well, but I'm always feeling like it should be more. I'm desperately wanting to fertilize, but I'm so afraid of the higher temps in the tunnel that everything will burn. The tecolote are really stealing the show! Their stem length and coloration has been stunning! Here's to many more days of ranunculus and anemones!

We had a big, big weekend!! My dad, husband, mom, and even Claire helped get our annual field all tucked in! We have a few more successions of zinnias, but we're in! We've got beds upon beds of annuals and I'm so relieved that the bulk are in and ready to go! We've got two beds of dahlias planted and today, we begin tearing out the rest of the tulips and re-doing our soil.

BIG SHOUTOUT to my dad for all his help rebuilding our back field - he's been out every day for a week sweating and building and moving dirt. Everyone tell him how good he looks with flowers! We couldn't have done it without him!

Friends, this is a huge year for us. I can't wait to welcome everyone out this summer. It's going to be so fun! We haven't updated our events, or u-picks, but they're coming!

Our ceremonial first dahlia is in the ground, Claire's water feature was a hit (for her and the golden's!), AND our sweet, little rainbow baby girl will be here in November. Holding onto this moment forever. We can't wait to meet you, sweet girl💕 🌈🌈

We planted out in February and they're FINALLY here. Our first buckets of ranunculus. Promise, I'll never tire of growing these divas. My absolute favorites! Here we go!!
