Stonecrop Farm

Stonecrop Farm We're organic livestock farmers based in Rochester, NY, raising Thanksgiving turkeys for our local community.

Stonecrop Farm raises certified organic pastured meat and specialty produce in Henrietta, NY. We are a small family owned farm following the principles of sustainable agriculture, producing food for the greater Rochester area. We are committed to raising our animals on pasture, being fed only certified organic grain as a supplement to the forage they find on pasture. Our animals get lots of fresh

air and movement, creating healthier and happier birds and pigs. If you have any questions, please contact us via FB or our website, www.stonecropfarmny.com

As of last week, we’re officially SOLD OUT of Thanksgiving turkeys for this year!

A huge shout out to all of our repeat customers - some of whom have now been purchasing turkeys from us for 10 years in a row (Crazy!) and all the new customers who decided to buy local AND organic this season. We’re so grateful to have your support!

Each year, when we reach this point, we open a wait list (link in bio) for folks who missed out and would still like a chance to get a bird if extras become available.

Sometimes we aren’t able to take more than 1-2 people off the waitlist and other years it's closer to 20 - it all depends on how the final numbers shake out!

Baby turkeys are fragile little things—fussy, needy, and totally dependent on some pampering those first weeks.

They arrive by mail (always a slightly nerve-wracking moment), and after a quick check, we settle them into the high tunnel near the barn. At this stage, survival is all about heat—90° day and night. Between the lamps and warm weather, they’ve stayed cozy so far.

Now at a little more than two weeks old, they’ve hit the “toddler phase”—mobile, curious, and absolutely accident-prone. I truly believe they spend their days looking for new ways to get into trouble.

For now, we’re on high alert to make sure they don’t get into TOO much trouble—but everyone’s thriving and growing fast.

It’s official - we’re fully recharged and ready for turkeys after an amazing canoe trip to the Adirondacks. We had a great few days of paddling, swimming, fishing and relaxing. We even learned how to filet and cook a couple of the fish we caught (a first for us!). We’re excited for the first batch of baby turkeys to arrive on the farm this week, so stay tuned for more updates throughout the season!
