Next Friday, June 12th from 7-10pm, we are hosting a lavender and fireflies event! It's pretty magical in the evenings here at the homestead. It's open house style, but please sign up for a ticket so that I know how many are coming. There will be lavender gifts, treats, and hopefully great weather! We hope to see you here! Bring chairs and bug spray!

Getting ready to order more dahlia tubers since only 5 of mine leafed out. Which one is your fave? Deep red/purple, coral, pink, or yellow?

Lavender is starting to bud out and the fireflies have returned! You are welcome to attend an open house to walk the gardens, view the 6 lavender varieties that are growing and take home a relaxing lavender roller! More info in the link.

I'm thinking of putting some kitchen skills into the class mix, such as quick breads, jams, and how to dry and use herbs in cooking. I would enjoy feedback on this train of thought.

I have seeds sprouting, seeds floating, and w**ds that need pulling when the rain is done.....
I planted seeds in dust. Oops. Now a lot have floated to the surface after days of rain here in Central Ohio. The sun still exists, correct?

Test flower garden is planted! Field flower garden is next. Fingers crossed. Maybe someday I'll have a li'l greenhouse. Until then, I direct sow and hope.

The man worked so hard to help me till and place poles for the field flower beds! I pushed to get them all done at once. *ouch* We agreed the rye cover crop was excellent for w**d suppression and will help put nutrients back into the soil. Next, plumping up the soil with some compost, etc. Then we plant! 🤩

May brings lots of seed and baby plant growth. It brings the return of the sunset over the pond. The return of me trotting into the house or barn saying, 'honey, come here! You gotta see the sunset!'. 💛💚
