How It Works--
All of our cattle are corn and grass fed Angus beef cattle. They are also drug and growth hormone FREE, which is a huge difference from most other meats. We sell quarters (1/4), halves (1/2), and whole beefs, all of which are USDA inspected at Winner’s in Osgood, OH. hanging weight and a half will weigh around 350-400 lbs. hanging weight. We are asking $3.50/lb hanging weight for a
quarter and $3.35/lb hanging weight plus processing for a half. Processing is normally around $1.10/lb hanging weight but this can vary a little depending on how you choose to have your meat cut up and wrapped. But this way, you get to decide how your meat gets cut up. In an average 200 lb. quarter you will get:
-6 T-bone steaks
-4 Sirloin steaks
-6 ribeyes
-13 lbs. cube steak
-50 lbs. hamburger
-21 lbs. arm or chuck roast
-12 lbs. round roast
Your individual quarter may be larger or smaller than this, but this is generally a good guideline. These are the standard cuts, but you could choose differently. After your steer has been butchered, we will call you with the actual weight of your meat. You will then get a bill for the balance of the meat cost less the original deposit (We ask for a down payment of $150 per quarter when placing an order). Within the next couple of days, you will need to call Winners (the butcher) 419-582-4321 and give them your meat cutting instructions. (If you don’t know what you want, or if you have never done it before, they will politely walk you through it). Once your meat is processed and ready to be picked up, (they let it hang for 7-10 days), they will give you a call. When you pick up the meat from Winners, you will pay them directly for the processing portion. Not only will you be receiving flavorful, high quality beef, you will know where your meat is coming from and what is in it (In our case, what's NOT in it). Questions or comments?
