So fun facts about my family & why I wanted to add donuts: When we quickly had to move from New York to Texas, it was partly because of the pesky couple of brain aneurysms hanging out in my head (don’t worry, I was equally as crazy before they found them 🤪), but also because we desperately needed better access to care for my son. His pediatrician was certain he was autistic, and in New York we were facing a 48 MONTH wait for a developmental pediatrician that accepted Tricare.
In NY, there was a Dunkin’ on every corner, here not so much. And if you’re lucky to know my son Eren, you know this boy LOVES donuts. Like OBSESSED 🍩😂
I’ve wanted to make yeast donuts for a long time because the cake donuts I tried before just didn’t cut it for my very particular, very smart little guy. He absolutely knows the difference between “mom tried” and the real deal from Dunkin’ or Krispy Kreme. 😅
Tonight, he got to enjoy a fresh donut the same way he does when he sees the box from his favorite spot… and seeing how happy something so small made him absolutely filled my mama heart. Watching him appreciate the littlest things.. *ugh* just makes my heart want to burst.
So enough of the sappy stuff, I’m sorry, I’m emotional sometimes.. but.. you can all thank Eren for the fresh donuts now being on the menu. 🍩🌈🤍
