We look back on 50 years of our club, this from 1980 when DACC was featured in the Classic Chevy World magazine. RD Wallace had his incredible '57 Bel Air highlighted in the magazine that he restored to original condition and it was NICE! He called it 'Black Gold' and it won many, many awards. RD was a expert when it came to Tri Five Chevys, especially the '57's and was a go to guy when help was needed. He restored many cars during his lifetime and one has to wonder where this '57 is today. RD and his wife Ellen were lifetime members of DACC and contributed greatly to the club. We lost RD at age 90 in 2015 and Ellen at age 92 in 2021.

Another Throwback on the 50 year history of DACC and another club member needing good vibes and prayers due to health issues. We recently got word that Rich Purvis suffered a stroke and is now living at a nearby assisted living facility. Here is Rich taking yet another award with his beautiful '55 Nomad in 2022 at the Sam Pack Show. Club members watch your email over the next several days as we plan to have a little car show/gathering at both Earnest Lander's home and Rich Purvis place of residence as both deal with their recent health issues.

It's Throwback Thursday and with 50 years of DACC we only go back two years this time to the 2024 Tri Five Nationals where DACC had several members attend the Bowling Green event. Among them were Earnest Lander along with his Grandson Kyler Lay (who has a '57 also!) drove Earnest' '57 Bel Air from Dallas to Bowling Green as the pair made a great memory Tri Five Chevy style. Earnest is a former DACC President during the years 1983 - 1985 and we have recently learned Earnest was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's disease ALS. We all send our best wishes to Earnest, his wife Patsy and family and have them in our prayers.

A BIG congrats to our club member Kelly Martinez for taking the 'Best of Show CAR' category with his killer '57 Chevy at the Gasoline & Chrome car show at Golden Star Classic Auto Parts! Martinez took the Favorite '57 Chevy Award at the Tri Five Chevy Show the previous month (where we celebrated our club's 50th Anniversary in style!) and Martinez followed up with this award at our Gasoline & Chrome Car Show! Looks like the younger Martinez accepted the award in Lewisville! Congrats to the family!

A big congrats goes to club member Crishana Briney who with hubby Patrick had two cars at the Gasoline & Chrome Car Show at Golden Star Classic Auto Parts, his 1955 Bel Air and her 1961 Nash Metropolitan Convertible (better known as Arthur). Crishana took the 'People's Choice' award at the show and for good reason! The Austin Motor Company in England never intended for their Nash Metropolitan to take the shape this one is! Art Morrison chassis, LS3 with over 400 horsepower, Strange 9 inch rear and the list goes on - you get the picture! Congrats to Crishana!
