One of our favorite parts of traveling… WILDLIFE! 🦌❤️

As we drove into Grand Canyon National Park that evening, we spotted so many elk along the way! After already being treated to incredible sunset views and a rainbow over the canyon, seeing these guys made our arrival even better. 🌅🌈

We absolutely LOVE seeing wildlife on our trips, and we’re always watching out the windows to see what we can spot next! 👀

What a way to arrive at the Grand Canyon! 🌅🏜️🌈

We made it to Grand Canyon National Park just as the sun was setting, and the timing couldn’t have been better. The canyon was glowing with sunset colors, and to make the moment even more incredible… a rainbow appeared over the canyon! 🌈😍

After a long day of exploring, standing there and watching the colors change across one of the most famous landscapes in the world was the perfect way to end the day.

And this was only our first glimpse of the Grand Canyon… we had more exploring ahead in the morning! 👀

All that exploring called for some lunch! 🥪😋

While in Page, we stopped at LP Italian Deli (Lake Powell) for a bite to eat, and YUM! 🤌🇮🇹

A good Italian deli sandwich was exactly what we needed before heading back out for more adventures around Page. Sometimes finding a great local lunch spot is one of the best parts of traveling! ❤️

Horseshoe Bend… WOW. 🤯🏜️

We’ve seen this place in pictures countless times, but standing at the edge and seeing it in person is on a completely different level!

Watching the Colorado River wrap around the massive rock formation below, surrounded by those towering canyon walls, was absolutely unreal. Pictures just don’t capture the scale of this place! 📸

This was one of those stops where we just stood there for a minute and took it all in. ❤️

A quick stop for an incredible view of Lake Powell! 🌊🏜️

We pulled over at an overlook to take in that beautiful blue water surrounded by the desert landscape. We only wish we had more time this trip to actually get out on the water — renting a boat and spending a day exploring Lake Powell would be SO much fun! 🚤☀️

Definitely adding that to the list for a future trip! 👀

Next stop in Page — Glen Canyon Dam! 🌊🏜️

We started at the Glen Canyon Dam Overlook for an incredible view of the Colorado River and canyon below before heading over to the Carl Hayden Visitor Center, where we got some amazing views of the massive dam itself!

Pictures really don’t show just how HUGE this place is. 🤯

Okay… someone help us out here because we’re still confused! 😂🧐

While in Page, Arizona, we followed the GPS trying to find Biidi the Arch, a spot we had seen all over social media. The directions took us to an area behind the Shell station, and apparently we weren’t the only ones — everyone else looking for it seemed to be heading to the same place!

But once we got there, we couldn’t help thinking… this CAN’T be it, right?! 😂

Did we actually find Biidi the Arch, or did the GPS send all of us to the wrong spot? If you know where the real Biidi the Arch is, let us know in the comments! 👇

A quick roadside stop at one of Utah’s most unique rock formations! 🪨🤠

We stopped to check out Mexican Hat Rock in Mexican Hat, Utah — and it really does look like a giant sombrero balanced on top! 😂

Just another one of those cool sights that makes driving through the Southwest an adventure all on its own. 🚗🏜️

After our incredible Cliff Palace tour, we still had more of Mesa Verde National Park to explore! 🏔️🏜️

We spent the rest of our visit driving through the park and stopping at several overlooks, including the House of Many Windows Overlook, Hemenway House Overlook, and the Geologic Overlook. 📸

One of the coolest things about Mesa Verde is just how much history is tucked into these massive cliffs. At each overlook, we found ourselves scanning the canyon walls for another cliff dwelling hidden among the rocks! 👀

We finished our time at Mesa Verde with a stop at the Visitor and Research Center before hitting the road for our next destination.

Cliff dwellings, incredible views, and thousands of years of history made this one of the most unique national parks of our entire trip! ❤️

What a way to start the day! 🪜🏔️

Our first adventure at Mesa Verde National Park was a ranger-guided tour of Cliff Palace, and this was definitely one of the most unique experiences of our entire road trip!

We got to walk down into the site and see the incredible cliff dwellings up close while learning about the Ancestral Pueblo people who built and lived here centuries ago. But getting back out came with a little adventure of its own… we had to climb FOUR 10-foot ladders! 😳🪜🪜🪜🪜

Standing inside Cliff Palace and seeing the structures from this perspective was absolutely incredible. Photos from the overlooks are one thing, but actually getting to tour the site is an experience we won’t forget!

And our day at Mesa Verde was only getting started… 👀
