Over the past week as we’ve been out on the farm working our neighbors and community have stopped in to ask what happened to all the goats.

Well, the ladies are at work. 😉 Many have been surprised when we say that and then excited once we explain what their job description is.

The ladies are hard at work clearing brush, and enjoying it. 🐐

Hello all,

We are working fast to get our Roadside Farmstand open for you today. Our happy hens have been working extremely hard to keep up with our new egg demand. So we are getting eggs washed and batched for you!

When people say Prairie Hills Farm has the freshest eggs, they aren’t lying! 😉 straight from the coop to the stand!

Your online meat orders are packed and ready and we will still have pickups today from 12:30pm -3pm.

When you drive past you still see hoop house structures without plastic. However we have been working hard getting plants in the ground and resetting/cleaning up growing spaces.

The biggest thing that comes with farming is that you never know the hand you’ll get dealt when it comes to weather and storms.

This year our focus is less on variety of produce but growing the staples our community loves.

So far in the ground we have ;

Onions
Potatoes
Sweet potatoes
Celery
Broccoli
Cabbage
Green beans
Squash
Zucchini
Cucumbers
Bell pepper; green, red, yellow
Jalapeno peppers
Snack lunch box peppers
Tomatoes
Collards
Beets
Carrots

With Okra and melons going in as soon as the soil dries a bit after yesterdays rain.
